Blonde Redhead slept on my living room floor in 1996. My roommate did their sound. I didn’t even know who they were, but went to see them that week and was blown away. Loved them ever since.
thank fuck for that its good that R&M fans are helping bring new light on to this band, but holy hell is it hard to find genuine appreciation for their music
You can tell the pianist had a formal music education, and memorised some pieces Or had it casual and got inspiration off their favourite classical playlist
This is such a masterpiece. I always come back for this ever a while. This song really calms me in a melancholy way and I always find peace in this. Thank you so much.
Beautiful song, Love the ending as well, the muse has played the song, and as if wakening from a dreamlike state we gradually get back to normal perception... the sounds of the city, the sounds of our everyday lives. Wonderful, loved it!
I just saw lyrics of this song I scralled down on the back of a notebook to remind me to look them up. I remember when I first heard this song, I described it as an "acoustic song that was heavy" I heard it from this NPR-esque (belong to a different group than NPR), radio station that was my favorite when I lived in Santa Rosa and I could only get the station while going or coming back from school but not my house. They would always play these songs that were like nothing else you would hear on the radio. Love it or hate it I would stay on it to hear something that I was not only new but sometimes music styles that I wasn't even aware that people were out there making.
Love me black and blue, You got no care as mocking birds Stares me stares at you I don't know how to stay afloat Now you want to play Why I never heard the world I can be your moonlight I'm not in my dress She does nothing all day But sit down and cry She touches the sky And wishes to play She does nothing all day But sit down and cry She touches the sky And wishes to play She does nothing all day But sit down and cry She touches the sky And wishes to play She does nothing all day But sit down and cry Sit down and cry Love me black and blue, You got no care as mocking birds I can be your moonlight I'm not in my dress She does nothing all day But sit down and cry She touches the sky And wishes to play She does nothing all day But sit down and cry She touches the sky And wishes to play She does nothing all day But sit down and cry She touches the sky And wishes to play She does nothing all day But sit down and cry Sit down and cry
+Mega Man i have serious problems recognizing this lyrics in the song, but this is what it says in the internet pages. also there are several words added in these lyrics
Yeah, I hear that too. Lyrics websites aren't always accurate; usually when someone puts lyrics online, every other website copies the first version done even if it's unofficial and/or has mistakes. I know it because I've seen it lots of times and people rarely bother on revising them.
I'm always mishearing things in their songs it almost seems intentionally since most of it is fitting perfectly fine and their voice is very ambigious at some parts
anyone else notice 3:01~3:15 the cut starts and ends on the guy with a baby stroller? we see the man, getting stuck, doing everything he can for his child, and going on about his day as if nothing happened. that's just so fascinating.
I am SO glad I found out about this band. They're amazing! It's similar to sad indie or sad dream pop or something, and I LOVE dream pop music! Wonderful.
No idea who this band is actually. They’ll be opening for Tool for the first half of their 2020 tour - I’ll be seeing them live in Buffalo NY on May 2nd 2020 - maybe they’ll grow on me. I’ll have to give them a listen before the show so I know what to expect! 👍👍
I remember the moment, when they did gig in Saint-Petersburg and this song started... And I was just YYYYAAAAYYY!!!!) But then realised, that everybody around were standing with bated breath and I was the only one YAYing in the crowd...)))))) Ah, confusing moment... But so happy) Come to Saint-Perersburg again, favorite band)
I can hardly wait to see you all in Salt Lake City this year. Saw you a couple years ago at the Depot, one of the best shows I've ever seen. I love your latest album so much!!!! Can't wait to see you again.
i love this song so much. i can't tell what key it is in which to me means it's technically and musically complex. i play violin and have been trying to figure it out for a while. good job. i love it!!!!!!
+STARKEY STARKEY R & M brought me here in the way that Rick would leave notes to himself or his Morty as a way of a plan B or C. Haven't looked back, just enjoying the ride.
some people other people refer to as musicians make millions but never make music. imo this is definitively the opposite. if you've only just heard of them, you are in for a treat..
