Toning Series
In this video I share my Blonde Toning Tips and I show a color melt toner which is perfect for blending out old foils ,creating low maintenance hair for the client. Blending old lines is a nice maintenance service between foil appointments.
To match natural tone, I use 1.5 levels darker than the natural base. If I want a soft blend, I only use 1 level darker.
I have applied the toner starting at the front, bringing it around the crown of the head about 2 inches, as I work towards the perimeter I only bring the colour about 1 inch down immediately after applying the roots toner. I use my liquid demi to blend the line and add tone to the ends. In this case, I used a high level to keep it bright
To blur the line, I overlap the color and buff it with my hands on each section, making sure I don't drag too much color down to the light ends.
By the time I have applied the color, I set a timer for 10 mins and check before rinsing, finishing with a heavy hydrating conditioner to smooth blonde ends
You can see this simple service completely transformed her color and brought it back to life.
It is important to explain that the toner will create a smooth blend, darker to lighter and to add texture, low-lighting will be needed next time or you can return to the regular foiling at the next service.
