@@Alexander_2525 Ja...I was born in Slovenia and came to Germany when I was 5 years old and have German citizenship. But here everyone goes to schools and weep for the good times ... the 70's and 80's were the best time for me ..
The mighty mixers that seek to elevate drab tracks into stunning covers for the 2020s can’t do much with original tracks like Atomic because they were light years ahead of their time when they first came out. Play the original at any modern dance venue and today’s kids will still think it was recorded yesterday that’s how good some bands from the ‘80s were and Blondie was stratospheric.
As a dude I have to say I love this song and can't help but jump around and sing this song whenever I hear it. Pure joy. Wish I was old enough to have seen them live at the height of their popularity.
I seen them on August 18 1982 at Toronto’s CNE. That was there famous video concert made for the new Pay TV Television system ! It turned out to be there last tour until they reformed in 1998 ! It’s now on RU-vid !
I remember hearing Blondie for the first time like 79, i was seven and we didn’t have cable, i wasn’t allowed to watch tv but i heard this wonderful voice and fell in love with their music, then when i saw Debbie i was like just instantly in love. Blondie reminders me of ushering in the early 80s with some of the best music and songs. VCR Beta just came out and not only could you watch a movie in your house, you could pause it, rewind and not miss anything. Debbie is a dream come true like. Greek demigod just so present yet untouchable
Thanks for posting this online. I saw Blondie 3 Times Back in the 1980s The Best time was at the Brixton academy in London 1982 with the B52S and Tom Tom Club. Nice one
La version extended est une merveille ! Deborah, your hair is beautiful !! Une bombe anatomique ce titre !! Toute mon adolescence .
When I started secondary school, the older lads in the 4th and 5th year had their Blondie posters on the inside of their lockers and Debbie Harry was every boy in the school's fantasy crush. A goddess of my early youth.
During the prosperous period of Popular music (1950-1991), women often had the supporting role but fortunately some succeeded in imposing their courage, their talent (Diana Ross, Tina Turner, Suzie Quatro among others). Deborah Harry was the one who imposed on men the assumed image of a woman capable of being more than a vase but a superstar that her presence on stage would prevent the years from erasing her name
This song was sung shortly after the Three Mile accident. It is a radical statement of irony and alarm about nuclear weapons and dangerous nuclear power. It is the essence of punk.
How come you never ever get tired of this tune? Everything, the vocals, the instruments blends in to a never ending smoothie. And Deborah has got the most sexiest mouth ever. Period.
Compare that era to today June 2022 its sends me into a deep depressed state, no one is ever gonna look back at todays era with nostalgia or say that generation of kids were cool they are the saddest weakest un hip kids ever to be born but a least they can say they were born they could have easily been aborted in these times.
Correct. 2023 at 56 I despair with modern teens, so F ing boring😕 no life, no energy , no passion , unlike us in the 80s🎉 Just stuck with their heads in their phones wondering what gender they are today. Snowflake society.
