She is! Of course the filter & she has a bit of help with her physical looks. Her talent, straight forwardness, energy level is timeless! Love her candid answers.
Debbie is always such a thoughtful, no bs person. Moreover, too many people became narrow-minded as they age, but Debbie retains her open-mindedness and creativity. Huge respect.

Wrote some of the most catchy tunes of the late 70's early 80's.
John gerson as soon as I saw Debbie back in the late 1970s I was smitten, simply the most appealing lead singer ever.Stunning looks, devastating smile ,incredible charisma she had it all.Have seen her over 20 times including most dates on her 1990 USA tour.
I was Debbie's Flight Attendant on a flight back from Glassgow Scotland to Newark years ago after a New Years Concert in Edinboro. I helped her put her leopard suitcase in the overhead bin and she called me an angel!!!! She is sweet
The News years eve concert was in Glasgow. I was at it, but had to leave before it finished to get back to my parents house. I think Edinburgh was the day after on news years day or the day after that.
@rushshukla4636 Plastic surgery isn't self-help. A plastic surgeon does it. Ridiculous way to say it. If she has the money and has elective surgery is her business, but it's certainly not self help...lol
I will never forget the first time I heard *_'Call Me'_* as a 12 year old in 1980, I could not grow up fast enough, I wanted to live whatever that song was about, it sounded so adult, so passionate and alluring. These artists were icons to the kids. I never would have imagined 44 years later as I sit her a 56 year old that I would be watching Blondie reflect back on her life as I reflect back on my own. What a ride it's been!
Debbie Harry stayed in a hotel I was working in back in around 2004. She was there to play in the Edinburgh New Year’s party and was with us for a couple of days. I saw her a few times but every member of staff that dealt with her were very complimentary on how pleasant, polite and friendly she was. As a big fan in the late seventies early eighties it was great to see her as a pleasant person when no cameras around.
(1) For those of us old enough to remember, Blondie helped define an era, late '70s -- early '80s, pre-AIDS. (2) Whenever I watch interviews of Debbie Harry I am always impressed with how grounded, intelligent and articulate she presents. Debbie always has interesting things to say.
Debbie Harry is an icon in American music. She was a big part of the punk scene and her band grew to expand many different genres of music. Her songwriting is underrated. Frankly, I wish their newer music could find a bigger audience. These new songs are as good as anything they recorded years ago. Blondie is one of my go to bands during my workouts.
What a wonderful talent ! In the mid 1980s I was in Cooperstown NY with friends visiting the baseball hall of fame. We walked into a gift shop in town. The man behind the counter was an older gentleman. He was very nice and friendly. My friends and I told him we were visiting from NYC. He replied that his daughter lives in the city . We had a nice conversation . We bought some gifts and continued to chat about things . He asked what we did for work. . After we told him , we asked what his daughter worked at .in the city .He went on to tell us she was Debbie Harry ! He was in fact a proud dad.
@@jonnyvassvag ??????? Wow ! Thank you McGarret !Didn’t realize that when one takes on the responsibility to adapt and raise a child that they are under a mandate to specify that they are an “ adoptive parent “! As a matter of fact , I’m going to a wedding in August for my goddaughter. She was adopted at 8 months . I’ll be sure to get up , tap the microphone, ask for everyone’s attention and say about the father “ he’s fooling us , she’s not his daughter !” Maybe the venue will empty out ! Mission accomplished!
They say you should never meet your idols but Debbie can’t be forced into any mold. I saw Blondie in concert in Michigan 25 years ago. My friends and I had just checked into the casino and were roaming the lobby. In walks Debbie and Chris in disguise headed to the gift shop and no one believed when I said “thats her”! I went to the gift shop, walked up and said “Miss Harry I love your music and wanted to say thank you.” She said “call me Debbie and this is Chris.” Like I was meeting the neighbors that just moved in next door!! They talked to me for 10 to 15 minutes about my favorite songs, what would be in the set that night and their next stops. Both of them were just gems, so down to earth! Next day check out Chris and Debbie walk up behind me at the desk!!!! I had my Blondie tshirt in one hand and Xbox under the other arm. I was raving about the concert saying I would never forget it and asked the if the would sign my shirt. Debbie took the shirt and signed it and handed it to Chris. When I got the shirt back it said To (my name) best wishes ❤Debbie. She remember my name from the day before! Genuinely humble human beings!!
I'm 64 now and was a child primarily of the 70s and 80s and Debbie Harry and Blondie were at the 70s forefront of new music. I think at the time I did not know just how much that was true other than she was a charismatic and beautiful lead singer of a new wave band . I miss those days and wish my life was closer to and more informed as to what exactly was happening. So glad she is still around.
Holy fuck! She looks as beautiful as she ever did. Like the clock stopped for her. If anyone deserves the happiest and longest life, it's the amazing, beautiful and talented Miss Debbie Harry.
Genuinely beautiful and aging like a fine wine. She lacks any of the posturing pretension of some of her contemporaries like Patti Smith and she knows where she came from. I adore her
Shes amazing. I am still in Awe of Debby Harry. I was 10 when I first saw Blondie, and I thought she was the most beautiful person I had ever seen. Still holds true.
This is one of the best interviews I've seen with Debbie, and I've seen a lot, being a fan since the start. She's so relaxed, forthcoming and comfortable with Sandy. She's 78 here and my God she's still strikingly beautiful. It's almost as if she's talking directly to you, each and everyone of you. Thanks for posting. So engaging. 😊
I read 'Face It.' Debbie's greatest strength is being THE most natural social butterfly in New York. Debbie, seemingly, connected with everyone. My biggest, and most sincere, compliment, for Debbie, would be to praise her for being THE face of New York City. My God, what a fucking beauty 😍😍😍 and what an amazing voice 🗽❤
I met her in London when I was 14. I was in love with Nicola - who was 13 and who was a Blondie fan - and I played truant from school so that I could go and get her autograph. She still has the poster which I tore off the wall of the record store - Our Price Records, Kensington High Street I hitch hiked over a 100 miles to do this........and the school never knew :) I love her for putting her relationship first when Chris wasn't well.
79 currently if this is recent but she looks fab for 79..........unbelievable that she is actually 79. Born 1st July 1945 so in 1976 she was 31 which surprises me. i thought she was younger than that back then.
I remember being 13 years old in Paris France and taking some money from my mum purse behind a back to go buy a record (used to buy one single 45 rpm a week) and bought heart of glass. Thanks mum!
Back in the late 70's, early 80's I had a girlfriend in Boulder Colorado who was friends with Debby from her college days at Monmouth in New Jersey. I remember that every so ofter she'd fly out to New York City to party with Debby and one of her big deals was hanging out at Studio 54 with Debby and all kinds of celebrities that she would have photos of. It was kind of fascinating to get an inside look at that world.
Thank you for posting this great interview. I believe this is a 2024 video so Debbie is 78 here. Great interview; DH is always an elegant exquisite creature.
'Clem wanted to be Keith Moon"...ha!ha!Ok ..he didn't have to,cause he's a fantastic drummer on his own.The vibrant beat to Blondie and one of the top 3 BEST drummers in the world for me.
I was born in 62. And in the late 70s, I saw Blondie on SNL? Play the song Dreaming! I was a drummer and was fascinated by Clem Burke's drumming. I became a fan! Wow! and she looks great for being 79!!!
What a great interview! I've always admired Debbie Harry and grew up listening to Blondie. I finally got to see them perform live in San Diego and it was a very memorable show! I took my friend Suzi from Taiwan to her 1st rock concert and Debbie gave us a shout out because we were up in the bleachers dancing! I'm so happy to see she is happy and healthy and still going strong!
Although this interview was recent months ago, I would love to see what Blondie has in the China cabinet in her house there😁. Thank you for this interview and Love you Blondie, thank you @@@ Love to everyone everywhere 🤗
I had an intense crush on her back in high school. I was a member of their fanclub and everything. I was thrilled when I found out we share the same birthday!
