Blood Bowl Sevens is almost certainly going to be our preferred way to play the game. It plays faster, smoother, and with just as much tactical and strategic nuance as a full game of blood bowl. However, the powers that be over at Games Workshop have rules that in order to fully enjoy the Sevens ruleset, you must shell out an unreasonable amount of money for and handful of extra rules and less cardboard than you would find in a boardgame of half the price.

Honestly, the Sevens rules should be included WITH the Sevens pitch. At the $45 cost. That, at least, would be respectful of the players and they could still get their insane markup.

Dang. Back in the 2000s I bought a 7s cloth pitch from a 3rd party for 20 bucks. It folded up or rolled up nicely in my old Blood bowl box set.

The fact that a company sells a thing, without the rules to play the thing, included with the thing, should tell you all you need to know about GW. Couple that with the fact that it should be €20 max, really points to what a predatory company they are. Good thing you need neither the board nor the extra book to play this. Just use the free rules available online and mask off one of the pitches on the main board.

I don't know how much you follow the channel, but firstly thanks for watching. I don't really buy any GW stuff. In fact blood bowl is currently the only thing by GW that I own. And half of it I didn't even pay for, my friends bought and then gave to me. At the time I recorded the video we hadn't yet tried sevens, we had only tried a handful of regular sized games which we felt were fine but quite long. At this point we've played a single game of sevens and we were pretty happy with the outcome. I plan on making another video once we've played a handful of games to give it a proper review.

thank nuffle for internet piracy. I don't pay for any GW rulebook unless I want a physical copy for the art and lore of a favorite faction. The GW rulebook tax is so insane and the book is always outdated when you get it because the release an FAQ/Errata.

I think I’ll tape up a spare large green pitch to mark a 7’s pitch. I’m glad the BB community have created 3rd party teams and miniatures as GW official stuff is overpriced. I couldn’t care less about official tournaments and GWs insistence on having GW miniatures. Happy gaming!🙂
