A quick advice here : there are A LOT of bosses in this mod and some really difficult ones for new players so know that if you are past your 10th-20th (or less) attempt at a boss and you feel like you are loosing your mind, even though it is tempting to try an try again you'll slowing burn yourself out of the game. So whenever you are tired of a boss try everything you can to upgrade yourself : try another weapon, try to craft some potions (temporary buffs), try to beat another boss maybe... it'll seriously help you to enjoy the game a bit more.
here are some tips: 1: Get the old lord claymore, it's a melee weapon obtained from bone serpents in the underworld so it's kinda hard to get but has AMAZING attacks, left click is just a sword swing but right click charges a dash that spawns homing projectiles that deal anywhere from 40-70 damage. 2: Don't put your magic storage inside trust me it gets massive over time as each bit of storage is from individual components that take up a ton of space, also get the magic storage crafting interface you can put other crafting stations in it and save a ton of space. 3: I noticed that in the desert scrouge fight you were using your blizzard in a bottle to dodge... uh don't do that use your Shield of Cthulhu instead that's the entire reason the shield exists. 4: Now that the eye of Cthulhu is dead the goblin army will spawn and that will get you the goblin tinkerer, this guy is VERY helpful from him buy the rocket boots and the tinkerers workshop, combine the hermies boots and the rocket boots to get lightning boots and then go down the crafting tree for the terraspark boots. 5: Also, from the tinkerers workshop you can combine the blizzard in a bottle, shiny red balloon and Golden Horseshoe to get the white horseshoe balloon which combines all of its components abilities 6: and finally like everyone says get ore excavator
Thanks for all the tips mate, really appreciate it as always! The old lord claymore does sound pretty good but I've got so much planned for next episode I'm not sure I will have time to get it then but maybe in a future episode I can! also for ore excavator, it is true but I don't mind the grind especially for my first Calamity playthrough
@ You’re welcome! Also with the claymore it probably is smart to get it later since underworld enemies can 2-3 shot you at this stage of the game. Either way take your time and do whatever you think is fun
It's good to have both hermes boots with the shield of cthulhu, because mobility is always key (even better when you get the goblin tinkerer). That gray zapinator would've been good, but too bad your audience said for you to stop buying weapons from the traveling merchant, because that one would've counted. "A toxic downpour falls over the wasteland seas" is an acid raid event (there are 3 tiers for different stages of progression throughout the game - found at your left-side ocean). I also heavily suggest using a spelunker potion deep in the caves near lava as you can find a lot of rubies (you can craft a lot of life crystals to further your HP, and with the spare ones you can make heart lanterns for boosted life regen for your arena when you do a boss fight). You can also make bast statues for your arena which boost your defense by 5 (costs 7 iron bars, 3 gold bars, and 1 ruby).
Thanks for all the tips mate, I will re-equip the hermes boots at the start of the next episode. Yeah I'm gutted I missed out on that grey zapinator, and if there is another toxic downpour I will go and explore the wasteland seas. I will also go for a big mining trip so the spelunker potions will definitely be helpful, as well as the bast statue!
Pure and good cinema. Edit: (The platforms all over the map will be your best friends against the bosses throughout the game) Other edit: Eye of Cthulhu music from Vanilla Calamity Music Mod is amazing 👍
The acidic downpour is the acid rain event which is in the sulfurous sea biome, always on the dungeon side of the world (which is also always on the snow biome side of the world), and down under the sulfurous sea biome is a whole other place which is useful throughout the game but no need to go there until after skeletron. Some tips in terms of moving and dodging, I find that holding down space bar rather than just tapping it makes the jumps a little higher, also it's very worth just dashing out of the way at the right time whenever something comes at you like the eye of cthulhu dashing or desert scourge launching up. Hermes boots is also very useful still even with the shield of cthulhu. The arena height and platform space is good, only thing i'd change is maybe make the platforms longer just for extra running space too horizontally. Now you beat desert scourge, I highly recommend going down under the desert to explore a new biome (I suggest using the water breathing accessory you get from desert scourge in that biome too), in that new biome there is a cool simple miniboss which you should take down, and get a new npc which sells some cool things as well as a valuable material you can mine down there.
@@_CJS Looking forward to it:) honestly I remember when I first fought desert scourge I was so bad at the fight it took many many attempts to beat it even if I had good set up and good equipment, now it's something I'm just used to and can beat easily which comes from lots of experience, also want to point out Gold/Platinum armour would be some of the best I'd say you should use for a while until a little later
my god, great video. MORE TIPS YIPPIE! 1. sulphurous sea is on the other side of the ocean, which contains the abyss and how you do the acid rain event. 2. regular healing pots are the easiest thing to make, only needing lesser healing potions(bought from merchant), glowing mushrooms (in the, well mushroom biome) and at a bottle placed down(from sand at a furnace). 3. an ore excavator mod would be a god send. trust me. 4. If i were to say something important its mobility, mobility is to me one of the most important things in the game. also that 5% loss to the scourge, i felt that. good for you on keeping the fight going
Thanks mate! 1. Thank you I will have a look at it next time it comes up 2. Yeah that will be quite helpful to have 3. True but I don't mind the grind especially for my first Calamity playthrough 4. I agree, just need to focus on improving it! It was the most angry I've been at a game in a long time, so glad I managed it in the end though
@@_CJS Calamity does that to you, try not to let the anger get to you. I personally lost boss rush mode because I died when the final boss had 0.2%hp remaining. I had to refight 44 bosses in a row again.
CJS, You should us Ore Excavator. It will take the loong process of mining ores (like that iron vein you found) and turn it into a simple click. This give time for more exiting stuff in your episodes.
Seeing the narrow win from an unprepared Eye fight was a rollercoaster. That struggle against Desert Scourge to get the win was something I remember the first time I played Calamity. You did well, especially for the gear you have. Stellar work. As for tips, there's a lot you could get and I could suggest, so I'll sum it up like this. While you can mismatch your armor set, Calamity in particular values wearing armor of the same set in all three slots, giving you a set bonus. If you want to continue with magic, there's two things you can do. You could upgrade the Wand of Sparking with some Ice Torches. Not much in terms of damage, but icy fire doesn't go away when an enemy touches water. The second one is more dangerous but much more rewarding. Brave your way through the Underground Jungle and collect various materials, Spores, Vines, and Stingers. This provides you with a full magic armor set and some poison oriented weapons. Be warned that if you do enter the Jungle, many enemies are dangerous down there and some inflict poison. As for general exploration, here's a good footnote. The Jungle is always on the opposite side of the world from a certain home of skeletons. Just past that place lies the Wasteland Seas and go deeper to find the cousin of the Mariana Trench. If you want see a King, go deep into the Underground Desert. There is also the Underworld (aka Hell) but the Step Below it is always underneath where the trench is. If you want to find a magical lake, search towards the jungle side of the world and toss something in. Lastly, if you see something sticking out of the ground in the Corruption... I suggest weighing your options. You wouldn't want to become a victim of Brain Rot, would you?
Firstly, thank you for the compliments and I love these tips that don't give it away and keeps me guessing! I'm not sure which class I should go for yet so I will let you decide in a community post (I'll explain next episode) That last tip in particular I have no idea what it could mean but I am very curious now 😂
Tips: The magic storage system is modular, so the storage heart you made is just the access point. The storage units are separate and need to be placed next to it, so you may want to move it to the roof of your house since there isn't nearly enough room inside. You will also want to make the crafting interface (the blue one), you can put all of your crafting stations inside it and it can craft things from everything you have in the storage system. As others have said, the acid rain thing is in the ocean on the other side of the world, which calamity greatly modifies into a completely new biome. Under that ocean is another massive biome that goes all the way down to the underworld, but it's not meant to be accessed until after you beat skeletron. I'm amazed that you beat desert scourge for your first time without hermes boots or even close to max hp (and with a starter weapon), though you should definitely change out amidas' spark or the craw carapace for the hermes boots (or an upgrade of them) if you want the next fight to be less painful. They make a huge difference with mobility, especially combined with the shield of cthulhu.
Thanks for the tips mate, that fight with underprepared gear was definitely a form of torture 😂 so I will re-equip the hermes boots at the start of the next episode.
The reason why the housing wasnt valid is because there wasnt enough space since the chests took it up. Its either 2 or 3 (not sure rn) Solid Blocks that need to be free so the housing is valid. Important to note that they do need to be Solid which is also why you cant make a floor out of only Platforms.
Beating desert scourge with a wand of sparking and iron armor should be a form of torture. I cant believe you put yourself through that without better gear
Some tips, the toxic downpour is on the opposite ocean which you checked, the desert scourge has an armour set that you can craft using its drops and you can go to the deep underground desert to find a calamity biome which has a Miniboss which is post desert scourge, oh and these videos are outstanding, love this :)
the one time an NPC is selling a good weapon he ignores it no way lmfaooo P.S. - the reason desert scourge was so hard was mostly because your weapons were very weak. Now that you've beaten him, you can use his drops to make Victide equipment which will be pretty good for a while.
Congrats on being victorious! I felt that pain of dying dozens of times to a boss before securing the win. Tip: You can double click an item in the recipe browsers required items list to see how to craft that item too, without having to search it up.
Thanks for thanking me for my tips! Here are some more! Also CNIDRION YIPPEE Collect Silt/Slush/Desert Fossils and use them at the extractinator! It is a great way to get ore and gems. The giant harpy feather can be crafted into pretty decent wings for early hardmode The wand of sparking can be upgraded with ice torches The toxic downpour only applies to one side of the world You may want to add an epilepsy warning, as those sped-up parts with lightning in the background create some fast flashes that may cause problems for some viewers Because it is October, Terraria is in Halloween mode. Some enemies may be dressed up, pumpkins can grow on all regular and Hallow grass, and every mob has a chance to drop a goodie bag! Collect pumpkins when you see them, as they can be crafted into pumpkin pie. This give medium improvements to all stats for limited time. You wont have to worry about the Desert Scourge looking like “a poo” much longer, as it is getting a resprite as a result of the sprite artist being exposed for… bad stuff. After defeating the Desert Scourge, it is encouraged to go D E E P into the underground desert until you notice biome changes. Explore the new stuff! btw, I believe “Tim” counts as a sub-boss in the vanilla game (basically a miniboss). It’s debated, but I figured I should mention it. Finally… 101 Torches. Caverns. Remember.
Thanks for all the tips as usual mate! Sorry about not putting an epilepsy warning I agree I should've done that. I will remember to put 101 torches down in the cavern layer!!
Not sure if anyone said it, can't find one, but the middle box being invalid housing is because too little space remains there. You completely filled the remaining floor with 2 chests on each side so it doesn't have enough open space to be a valid housing. Maybe. Usually when the floors are filled up it becomes invalid housing, so this might be the case. Next, worm bosses. Calamity has a LOT of worm bosses. One of the most important things to note against these slithering demons is that their head usually deals the most damage, especially my favorite worm (foreshadowing something?). So you would really want to put all your dashes, jumps, hooks, and everything to focus on dodging their bites mainly since every other attacks deal significantly less damage. Additional tip on this matter would be to utilize "piercing weapons", any weapons that can hit multiple segments of those worms. Basic swords for example are often great for worms since they slice through several segments each swing you hit. While on the topic of piercing weapons, do mind that while piercing weapons are better for segmented bosses (i.e worms), single target weapons are often better for bosses with only 1 attackable body part. Good luck on your journey!
Oh I see, thanks for letting me know about the invalid housing! I believe your favourite worm could be Eater of Worlds? 😂 I appreciate all the tips mate, I will definitely take these into consideration!
@_CJS oh good sir, my favorite worm is "cosmically" much stronger and bigger than the eater of worlds. Don't worry, you'll meet him soon enough 😉 Pray that his teased latest upcoming update doesn't arrive sooner than your encounter with him because i don't think we'll enjoy that much 👀
This might be the first time I've seen someone use the nurse cheese without me wanting to commit a felony against them. Might be since youre new to the game. Either way, nice first boss kill. Also at 18:25, that is a different song. It is the most recent addition to vanilla calamity music, being uploaded just two days ago. It plays at the ocean when its raining. Also also, the zapinator is literally the *one* exception to the "don't get weapons from the travelling merchant" rule. One last edit. Seeing you improve throughout the desert scourge fights was very satisfying. Seeing you go from getting hit by every attack, to just narrowly avoiding the sand blasts, to expertly avoiding the nuisances and getting adrenaline fairly consistently before eventually winning was such a dopamine rush. And you didn't give up. As someone who spent 2000+ attempts on nohitting a boss, it makes me happy to see someone else so determined to reach their goals.
Thanks for not wanting to commit a felony against me 😂 I didn't realise that it was seen as a cheaty method so I won't use it again! Whoops 😂 at least I know for next time if the travelling merchant sells it again Thanks mate that experience was definitely a roller-coaster of emotions, 2,000+ ATTEMPS?!?! That is metal, fair play that is dedication!
If you get your hands on a Lab Seeking Mechanism, you can craft with it at an anvil. I recommend crafting and using the Onyx Seeking Mechanism. It will lead you to an underground lab containing a tool of mass destruction.
Oki doki, so there goes another few minutes of writing a whole guide! 1. Just to be clear, usually armor mixing is more optimal for damage than the full armor, but as u are a beginner, armor mixing isnt for u so yea just use full armors 2. I know blizzard in a bottle is cheaper, but sandstorm in a bottle is the best out of all bottles, so I recommend getting it, and upgrading it to yellow horseshoe balloon when u get the god of all scammers, his intelligence is beyond draedon's when it comes to scamming, *the goblin tinkerer* (altough he isnt much of a scammer in calamity, since calamity removes RNG from his reforges, u just get a better modifier with each reforge until u get the best (legendary/godly/mythical/ruthless/flawless depending on the weapon, for accessories, menacing, lucky and warding are the best ones depending on stage of the game, ur dmg% and crit% as well as preferences, for a beginner like u warding will be definitely the best 3.Gear I would recommend to get in next video: - brittle star #BrittleStarSupremacy its a drop from desert scourge, even if u wont use it as ur main dps, u can go defensive mode, in defensive mode u get 5 defense for each brittle star summoned, this is i think the only weapon in the game, that is viable for whole playthrough (cuz free defense is free defense) -Blade of grass, pretty good early game weapon (altough not better than the duo i mentioned below) useful for further crafting trees - old lord claymore and bladecrest oathsword For both weapons u need to go to the underworld, Oathsword has like ≈4% of drop from demons and voodoo demons, seems rare, but isnt compared to old lord claymore with ≈14% but, how can it be more rare then? Well, it drops from bone serpents which are rare enemies from underworld But trust me, old lord claymore is worth the suffering, u might love it, wont spoiler what it does, recommend using water candle and battle potion for higher spawn rates of bone serpents if u would like to get it (and a speed up so we wont suffer with u) - u can also upgrade ur wand of sparkling + get a demon scythe spell book that also drops from demons and voodoo demons Important notes: • *DO NOT FORGET ABOUT DASHES* I have noticed u barely used ur shield of cthulhu in the fight with desert scourge, but dashes will really help u alot (double tap A/D to dash) currently u have the weakest kind of dash, which is bonk dash, but post skeletron u will get a dodge dash called counter scarf • Ur next bosses to kill in order: -Giant Clam (sunken sea mini boss) -King Slime -Crabulon -Eater of Worlds -Hive Mind Next events: -goblin army (do it asap, the god of scammers is an important npc) -Acid rain, at the snow biome side of ur world there will be sulphurous sea biome, this is where u do acid rain, dont go down the water tho, stay on surface, u need much more preparation for the abyss, - old ones army tier 1 ( A dungeon defenders 2 crossover, a 5 wave event with a mini boss at the final wave, u can use tarvenkeep's gear that might help u with defeating the old ones army) • Dont worry, we all hate the angler npc, he is also hated by some other npcs, fortunately, calamity adds another reason to bully angler, as upon death he has a chance to drop a golden fishing pole, a really good pole with 50% fishing power, altough if u let a trasher (sulphurous sea enemy) kill him, u will have 100% for the golden pole •Get nycro's no hit efficiency, ofc not for no hitting since u would have 1000 attempts on a desert scourge, altough u are pretty good in *alothits* U should get an award for the 50+ hits on EoC, coming back to nycro's with this mod, if u set it up in mod configurations in settings, we will be able to see the number of ur attempts as well as the duration of boss fight That's all from me today, enjoy ur tips :p
WOW THIS IS A LONG COMMENT OH MYYYYYY I've read through all your tips, thank you so much as there is so much helpful stuff here and I will definitely be taking a lot of these tips into the next episode! ❤️
Congrats on beating your first calamity boss! Pro Tip: Failing boss fights will always happen. YOU WILL FAIL, but it will always help you get closer to beating them, especially because it's your first time. For the first few times you fight a boss, look for attack patterns. Keep this in mind throughout the playthrough because this will help tremendously with any boss you fight. It has always helped me whenever I'm having trouble with one. Keep up the amazing work!
Here's to your first two bosses defeated! Remember to take regular breaks, as I doubt any of us like seeing you so stressed. I greatly appreciate being in the opening tip comments section, so here's a few more pertaining to general game stuff: Mobility is INCREDIBLY important (if that wasn't obvious enough), using your mobility well is essential to making boss fights as smooth as possible. I've noticed you haven't been using your dashes too often. They're probably the most important part of your kit when it comes to mobility, giving a quick boost of speed along with the ability to change directions on a dime. Getting used to a quick double directional input would've helped immensely in the desert scourge fight, but it'll help greatly in every other fight as well. Commenter who spoke or using armour sets was also correct, aim to craft the full armour set all at once when upgrading as to not lose out on the set bonus of your previous armour. It might not be for you, but from my experience, using the full screen low opacity map does WONDERS for tracking bosses, as it gives you a broad map view centred on your screen. Hope to see more of this adventure, as it's really entertaining and refreshing compared to other playthroughs I've watched. Keep up the good work, CJS! I'm rooting for you!
Thanks mate, I genuinely appreciate all the tips and nice words, I have had some comments about re-equipping the Hermes boots so I will do that to help with mobility and with that I do need to get more used to using the dashes. The full screen low opacity map does sound helpful and I did try it out against the Desert Scourge one of the attempts, however I don't think it looks to good on video and the viewer experience is priority for me. But again, thanks for the support recently on the channel ❤️
I WAS LATE!! I don't know how i could commit such a vile act. It will never happen again 😭 Also ty for the shoutout! Diesel is the goat. He WILL carry you throughout the entire mod 20:22 BEST PART OF THE VIDEO(this basically means he drowned himself or died to a hostile mob)
Wow, i would consider beating a Scourge with a wand of sparkling a challenge, good job! Also, here are some tips: 1. You can try using calamity music extra, instead of vanilla calamity music (it mostly changes only boss music, so if you want vanilla music too, it's a great choice) 2. Get a better pickaxe, you'll love the mining speed 3. You can get a gun from orbs in corruption 4. start setting a pilon system, so you won't have to run so much 5. You can craft a metal detector from wulfrum scrap, i think it's self explanatory Hope this isn't to much, keep up the content!
Tips for bosses 1 instead of constantly dying and having the same setup try changing classes getting better armour trying different weapons a making the arena bigger 2.for bisses like dessert scourge A. K. A worm bosses use piercing weapons but for bosses like king slime A. K. A big bosses use weapons like starfury becouse normaly aiming is hard For bosses like the eye A. K. A fast bosses use fast attacking weapons 3.try memorising the way bosses attack and how to dodge them
Good job, my friend! 2 bosses down, like 30 to go)))) I was very glad hearing a special shoutout for me, thanks! So here some more tips: 1. Actually, Grey Zapinator is pretty good weapon, some people even call it OP in vanilla game, but I can't be sure about Calamity because it nerfs some weapons. 2. After defeating Scourge, you can craft Starfury and Enchanted sword, they should help you a lot. 3. Desert Scourge is dead and that means, that it's maybe a time to go much deeper in the desert? 4. If you're using double tap for dash, you can rebind it to separate button, so you won't use it accidently (I use my side mouse button). 5. About the gun and desert homes. You can obtain your first firearm exploring underground corruption, maybe there's something to blow up? Also I think guys, connected with colors, should like living in desert (trying to make not-so-obvious tips). 6. Dryad should like places with lots of plants and nature. 7. Fisher should rot in hell, I mean he likes oceans. Yeah, right. 8. The acid rain is an event happening in the other ocean. Maybe you should check this out later, it's not that funny, but you'll need that biom in the future. 9. You can stack double jumps. Also you should be able to craft red shiny balloon and combine it with blizzard and lucky horseshoe when you'll get Tinker's Workshop. Additional jump height is very usefull. 10. If you have spare emeralds, you can craft emerald hook, which should be more usefull than squirrel one. 11. If you have spare rubies you can make Life Crystals. Your current health is pretty low to further progression. 12. About squirrels: your summon squirrel is actually not a minion, but sentry, so you should be able to use both an eye and the squirrel. Extra DPS is always good. 13. You should already think on what's your class will be. 13.1. For the first playthrough Melee should be good, because it's kinda straightforward and yet powerful. Starfury and Enchanted sword should be good for now, but maybe you can find some old powerful sword in hell under some kind of bridge? Who knows. Golden armor is, actually, the only good choice for now, but don't worry, you'll get upgrade soon enough. 13.2. Ranger can be good for the first time as well, but it's pretty mediocre: it's never the best class, it's never the worst class. It gets the job done, so it's cool. You can try obtaining Fossil armor and Gold/Demonite (don't remember exact name) Bow with unholy arrows for the upcoming first evil boss and frostburn arrows for most of other enemies. Boomstick also works well, but you have to explore Jungle for it (or buy it from Dealer, as far as I remember). 13.3. Mage can already make Frost Bolt spell and Amber Stuff which are really good weapons to start with. Dryad should be selling Nature's Gift which is also useful for mages. As for the armor: Jungle Armor is the best choice for now, but you see the problem: it's JUNGLE. Otherwise you can use Golden armor or Diamond Robe with Wizard Hat (Tim has increased spawn chance if you 're wearing either any Robe or Wizard Hat). 13.4. Can't tell anything about Summoner or Rouge, never played with them. The only think I know for real is that Obsidian armor is kinda good for summoner and Belladonna's Spirit is a good summon which you can use with any other weapon (moreover, they are so cute!). 14. For some reason, most of engineers prefer snow bioms (information for the future). 15. You can encounter Goblin Scout near the oceans in forest bioms at daytime. You can farm them a bit to get 5 tattered cloth and make Goblin Banner to summon Goblin invasion (better to lock your doors and protect the NPCs). After that you'll be able to find Goblin Tinkerer somewhere in caverns (you can use Lifeform Analyzer and Hunter Potions to find him, Battle Potion increase his spawn rate). I'm very glad, that you added Vanilla Calamity Music. That is such a cool mod! Btw, if you want you can even add Calamity-themed texture pack. It can be found in Terraria's (not tModLoader) workshop. Love this series so much! Thank you, CJS! Your loyal follower, Dumb Shit Storage.
WOW THIS IS A LONG COMMENT OH MYYYYYY I've read through all your tips, congrats as you will win comment of the week for next episode as there is so much helpful stuff here! Glad you are loving the series and thank you ❤️
If you need to get diamonds @, then you need to go to the mines. If you can’t get to the mines, then you need the lucky horseshoe. if you can’t get the lucky horseshoe, then you need to go to the mines. If you can’t get to the mines, then you need the lucky horseshoe. if you can’t get the lucky horseshoe, then you need to go to the mines. If you can’t get to the mines, then you need the lucky horseshoe. if you can’t get the lucky horseshoe, then you need to go to the mines. Or just don’t enter the mines.
few recommendations: craft the cloud in a bottle and the whoopie cushion together into fart in a bottle for a better double jump start trying to specialize into a class, any of the 5 will do but buffs will soon become class exclusive so its good to spec into one challenge the goblin raid so you can start combining accessories and free up accessory slots
In calamity mod it is good to use one class for your entire playthrough. I allows you to benefit from class specific buffs which are really significant especially later on in the game
CJS, nurse healing during b=boss fights is kind of cheaty method to beat them, and a lot of people don't like it, but you can do whatever you want because it's your playthrough.
The acid rain event is at the sulphuric sea which is in the left side of your world. You can get some decent stuff from it but i wouldn worry to much about it.
i'm happy you took my request for the calamity vanilla music mod I think I forgot lol also simple tip 1. Try to get full gold armor ( you get armor boosts when you use the entire set ) Ps. im 8 mins in the vid so ye
Loved the video and the editing but i am a bit concerned about the future of this project as there are REALLY challenging bosses in hardmode. I don't know how much you will improve till you get to these bosses, but seeing how you are doing against the earliest bosses (seriously no hate) it might become borderline impossible for you. So IF that time ever comes where you cant progress at all then you can just turn off revengeance or switch to a normal difficulty world. But i don't really care how, just keep up the great vids!
Yeah I think I struggled with it a lot more as I'm still getting used to playing games with M&K and I had pretty bad gear, so hopefully I won't need to turn off revengeance. But I really appreciate the support mate!
bro u make my weekends better by uploading this playthrough. i can’t wait till you get to post-moonlord 🙏😫 also pls use hermes boots, those desert scourage deaths where u moved so slow hurt me💀
12:13 NO WAY, YOU DID GET A VERY RARE DROP FROM HARPIES JUST KILLING A FEW OF THEM🗿. 13:23 Bro, I think this is the most epic and frenetic fight against The eye of Cthulhu I've ever seen in my life as a Terraria player and enjoyer💀. 33:10 Dude, you died enough times to transform your arena into a graveyard biome HAHAHHAHAHA. You should see my comment in your previous calamity episode, there are some tips an questions (i dont wanna copy paste cuz i would look like a bot😭). But some personal tips on this video: You should try the "Sandstorm in a bottle", I think is the best double jump you can get for now because of the height of the jump and the speed. Also, you can craft life cristals (like those of the caves) thanks to calamity, you will need ruby, stone and healing potions (those that heal 100 hp), they are made of small healing potions and glowing mushrooms, you can craft potions putting a bottle on a work bench. And funny thing, some bosses enrage if you get outside of their biome, you can notice that if the white bar on top of the boss healthbar turns red, red means enraged, and in this occasion, Desert Scourge will enrage if you get outside fo the desert, try making your arena wider more than taller, or just build until you notice that you are getting outside of the biome (you can tell with the music and the backround). For Desert Scourge, try to bait to one direction (like bait him to go up), and after that switch fast to the platform below of you, and charge with the shield. That's all, sorry if the comment is very long, or has some spelling errors, actually I'm a latin fan (from Central America, Costa Rica), and I try my best improving my English😭
I died so many times it turned into a graveyard biome 3 times I think, I just edited them out😭 I've now got the blizzard in a bottle is that not just as good as sandstorm? Thanks for the other tips though, I did see them before! Also I thought you were English, as it is perfect congrats on being so good with another language!
@@_CJS HAHAHAH dont worry, its normal being a new and challenging boss. And another thing, are you planning to have a discord for your communty? like to chat and some stuff
Go to the sunken sea (wich is located under the desert) for some precious loot. BTW if you find a lab here get the schematic, it lets you craft the first tier of draedon items.

WOW THAT IS A LONG COMMENT Thank you for all the mod suggestions (I did read all of them) and there are some pretty interesting ones. However as this is my first playthrough I don't want to add too many more mods so I am good for now but still really rate and appreciate the effort! ❤️
I have another tip if youre down for it though its an unpopular opinion my loadout when i play on the hardest difficulty for calamity i go for the triple jump balloons (bundle of balloons) paired with all +4% movement speed accesories and slow falling potions usually people likes +4% damage to kill the boss faster but with that loadout you can go so fast the bosses cant hit you.... But dodging will be extremely important
I'm beginning to realize that this playthrough is going to be really long, so i have a few suggestions: You should prevent the corruption from spreading in pre-hardmode, since when you eventually get there, you won't need to worry about your npcs houses becoming invalid because the biome changes (just need to spend hours making 6 wide hellevators around houses) Please for the love of god finish the magic storage, it's already episode 3. Also make an area specially for it, since it occupies a bit of space you don't want it in the home of an npc. You need to craft the blue storage component too if you want to craft thing in the storage system. I recomend equiping most movement acessories like the Hermes boots, cloud/blizzard in a bottle and shield of cthulhu, the rover drive is better than amidias spark imo. I don't know what class you want to go for, but since you're use melee for now, try to get feral claws inside ivy chests in the jungle (you can also find materials there to craft the blade of grass) In space there are these small planetoids that have heart crystals inside and gems as well (this would of been useful to know before using both gravition potions in the beginning of the video) Now that you defeated the scourge, head to the bottom of the underground desert and look for a lab. The scourge also drops a material to craft new gear
Yeah I do need to do it although it is a horrible grind so I'll probably do it in a couple of episodes Yes, I will try and do as much as I can next episode I will let you decide what class I should go for in a community post (I'll explain next episode) If I get more gravitation potions I will have a look out for them I've had a few comments about this, I will go there next episode!
An absolutely fantastic video, CJS. Really love your content! I have been sticking around your channel for quite awhile now and felt it was about time to comment. I’d like to share some tips with you which will be really important. Before I do that though, I'd like to say something. Don’t push yourself by pumping out calamity only videos. The calamity community has a reputation of being quite toxic. Allow a bit of variety of videos. Even if I or others don’t like it, others will :D. Anyway, you’ve just killed the desert scourge which is a massive feat (considering the absolute cancer ai the devs gave him, the next few bosses shouldn’t be as bad though). The treasure bag contains a few weapons, all of which are viable. But most importantly he drops 4 materials: starfish, seashells, coral and pearl shards. With these materials, at a furnace, you can craft sea remains. With them you can craft new armor called victide armor, there are 5 different victide headpieces for each class (melee, ranger, mage, summon and rogue). You’d need exactly 12 for a full set, store some pearl shards though since they’ll be important. You can also craft weapons but I'll get to that in a bit. With the desert scourge defeated, you’ve now granted access to the sunken sea (a biome located underneath the desert). Ghostbells (bluish jellyfishes) drop an accessory called voltaic jelly and giant clams will spawn, a miniboss. Giant clams drop a few accessories and an npc. The treasure of the sunken sea however lies in the sea prism, an ore which can be found in geode like structures. However you need a gold/platinum pickaxe to mine them, although there does exist a little trick to get them without better pickaxes. Essentially, the small gem-like spiky thing scattered all around the sunken sea (known as prism shards) can be used to craft sea prisms, needing 5 for 1. Although they also require a higher tier pickaxe, this can be bypassed by mining the block they’re attached to. With sea prism, navy stone and pearl shards you can craft a few weapons. The one I'm aiming at is the seafoam bomb, a really good rogue weapon for single target performance. Back to sea remains, you can craft a weapon called urchin mace which is also a really good melee weapon for crowd control and piercing. You could use either the melee or the rogue set of victide armor for the weapons I suggested. Hope this is helpful and i’d really want to see you succeed to finish your first ever calamity playthrough :D. Keep up with the great work! (also the zapinator is SOOO GOOD HOW’d YOU MISS THAT 😭)
First of all, thank you for caring for caring about me and not pushing myself by pumping out calamity only videos, that genuinely means a lot ❤️ Wow that is a lot of information and a lot of items I have never heard of, something I will have to learn over time and get used too, but I will definitely explore it next episode! I'm not sure which class I should go for yet so I will let you decide in a community post (I'll explain next episode) Thank again for the nice words and tips mate!
@@_CJS You’re welcome :D! Ever since I found your channel I've gotten so attached to it. Your unique way of introduction through different environments on every start of your videos really got me hooked on fresh air as I've never seen something like that on such an underrated channel. It really shows you put effort and love into them. Tbh the tips I gave might have been a bit too complicated. The idea was to try and shorten down and pick out key items since the scourge unlocks quite a lot of things which can easily be confusing. Classwise however, you shouldn’t stick to any specific class if you’re not confident enough. Exploring the different options is a whole lot more fun than being restricted to only a certain amount of items. But again, you’re welcome and i’m so happy i get to help out your journey :D!
It kinda hurt to see u ignore the grey zapinator in the travelling merchant. Cause that's like, the one pre-hardmode weapon he sells that's actually good
@@_CJS All good. This weapon & its hardmode counterpart, the orange zapinator can either be decent or the most broken weapons in the game. But it entirely comes down to luck
also, theres an upgrade to the wand of sparking that does a little more damage called the wand of frosting its really easy to craft so its basically a free upgrade
PEAK INTRO AS ALWAYS IM FEATURED IN A VID TWICE LMAO 5:04 ITS THRICE NOW 2:50 most chill mascot ever 2:57 meow 6:11 thats so lucky diamonds are first of rare second of there were so much 15:26 amidas spark carried ngl 18:08 wrong ocean ): 20:36 squirel is a sentry and the deathstare is a summon so u can use both at the same time since they dont take the same slot (there are summon slots and sentry slots) 22:25 amidas spark is NOT that good 24:43 u were literally talking abt blizzard in a bottle and proceded to ignore it 2 times now thats a gamer energy 27:12 i dont think zapinator counts as a gun since its a magic weapon also u have 100% chance to drop the musket from the first shadow orb 29:05 its 25 because in hardmode u have wings but in pre-hm u can use things like grapling hooks and bundle of ballons or just fledling wings 30:08 MAKE THE ARENA WAAAAY LONGER ur going to be running left and right ALL the time 40:42 wand of sparking (youtuber) would be proud also ur crazy for beating him with a wand of sparking
ALSO i have some music from terraria (: 1. WAYFAIR music pack 2. FINAL FRACTAL (its from "you" mod) AND when i was doing a test in geography class i looked out the window and i saw a cat that looked exactly like yours
Thanks for the comments to the channel you deserve the recognition! Thanks for the tips again, and corrections (24:43 😂) I did not realise there was a RU-vidr called wand of sparking, hope he is proud 😂
If your pc can handle it, I'd recommend downloading terraria ambience and the lights and shadow mod! It makes the game a lot better and just increases immersion :) it's a must have!
btw one big tip that would help for bosses and fighting other things in general there are 4 classes in this game melee ranged mage summoner choose one of those and get a strong weapon from that class to fight the boss each class also has its own armor sets that make the weapons of that class stronger like for example you can use a boomstick from the jungle chests and fossil armor for early game bosses, for the ranged class
Also, gray zapinator is not a gun, its a mage weapon, i recommend you to choose a specific class (mage, melee, summoner, rogue, ranger) and play like that for higher or more consistent damage and look at the guides on google for bosses to get the maximum damage out of your class BE MAGE BE MAGE BE MAGE COLORFUL LOUD AHH WEAPONS BE MAGE PLSSSSSS
Thanks for the info, I'm not sure which class I should go for yet so I will let you decide in a community post, I think I know which option you will choose 😂 (I'll explain next episode)
omg, it's 8? man im sorry for not being more specific. get more life crystal untill 400 hp. don't make your arena higher, cuz you might get out of the biome that the boss required to spawn, and if you get out the boss will be enraged and will either become more faster or instakill. what class do you want to play? if melee i could guide you.
