I continue to be incredibly happy I backed Bloodstained. So happy to see it on the Completionist, because this was one game I absolutely LOVED completing 100%! Edit: Welcome to the community, Jirard!
Yeah the Complete it is the correct word on Bloodstained Ritual of the Night. But the last of us 1, 2 and part 2 is more finished it or look at it because it not worth it because that not presentation. So rest because the Corona virus is not a good idea on pushing the brain to it limited like greed.
I got my Platinum trophy and never even tried Nightmare mode with either character. Thankfully beating it in that difficulty isn't a requirement for the Platinum and thank goodness because that mode isn't fun for me. Hard is where it's at but not Nightmare.
I continue to feel burned for backing this game. I got the Switch version because it seemed like a game I would play on the go and it was complete unplayable hot garbage. Like playing in slow motion at fifteen frames, input lag so bad I would continuously miss jumps, and it kept crashing after about fifteen minutes of gameplay. I’ll never back another video game Kickstarter because of it. Always wait for reviews.
For someone like me to enjoy this game without having played any past Castlevania or having watch the Jojo anime or getting any of the Easter Eggs... That shows how good of a game this is on its own.
I got to play this as part of my Game Pass subscription, and I was anticipating it since the kickstarter and playing Curse of the Moon. It's so good I bought it after finishing Galleon Minerva, even though I could continue playing it via the subscription. I just wanted to support it, it's that good.
I'm glad Igarashi has never been afraid to show his influences! For instance, he's referenced Jojo's as far back as aria of sorrow where one of the souls just gives you a stand.
I'm so glad this game turned out as good as it did. I rarely platinum a game, but I did it with Bloodstained. Fortunately a Nightmare Zangetsu playthrough is not required. Regarding the anachronisms, like the train and electric guitar: assuming Gebel's castle is similar to a typical Dracula castle from the CV series, I always figured it's in a constant state of physical and temporal flux. Drac's castles were always changing from game to game, and included a number of elements that don't fit with the time they're set in. Bloodstained touches on that with the really out-of-place Egyptian area. The castle draws things from the past and future and combines them in one unsettling amalgam.
I started gaming in year 2000 with my Gameboy Color and it still holds a deep place in my heart. It pains me to see many game titles who finished or get cancelled. Viewtiful Joe, Okami, Metal Gear, Prince of Persia, Uncharted, Drakengard, Heavenly Sword, Dark Souls , Castlevania, etc. etc. etc. Those times were the greatest and im glad that i was born in that generation.
Hi Jirard! Member of the Operation: Akumajo staff here. I'm glad to see you enjoyed the Simon Belmont reference! Hopefully you also enjoyed the Dominus sword which is a reference to the war of 1999!
i got platinum on ps4 and i couldnt and wouldnt waste time fighting all bosses with no hits😳cool they making a new one,its a cool lookin game, but ps4 has these hitches in game and that loading between areas are slow
How to make Castelvania even better? use a sexy lady character as the protagonist instead of a boring random guy, fan service pays off, apparently, still a great game. Also that Jirard lady at the end was disturbing as hell.
Boring random guy? Female protagonists in Castlevania games are the most boring to me. Shanoa was probably the best, but for me It's much more fun to play as a Belmont or someone like Soma or Alucard.
It might sound odd to link chemistry or alchemy with cooking, but they both share the same roots and the same methodology. Both take raw ingredients, combine and manipulate it, sometimes even adding heat, all in hopes to create something totally different than the sum of the whole parts. But if you'd like to dig deeper, at one time when chemistry was still called alchemy, it would be called alchemy or witchcraft if one were able to make butter without milk (margarine), isolate the salt of flavor (monosodium glutamate), or even give breath to wheat (the rising of bread). Simply, some alchemists worked toward culinary arts and herbology while others in atomical arts. Yet the root of alchemy can still be found in each and can help either field; red cabbage is a universal indicator, the effects of yeast and sugar can be replicated with Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking Soda) and Hydrated Acetic Acid (Vinegar), and the last mentioned combination is also a means to obtain gaseous Carbon Dioxide and liquid Sodium Acetate. So given that, an Alchemist offering to make alchemical meals would simply mean he has the culinary understanding to combine dishes out of anything you bring him (even if it is a fruit or meat he has never seen before)
Let's also point out two things: there is a protonjon item in this too obtain on save file name. And two, Iga redid the art after fan backlash. He was set back, but pushed forward
TBH, I didnt know what this game was until very recently with the Eiyuden Chronicles Kickstarter in which Igarashi is someone that the team is consulting. Wild.
My favorite thing in this game is if you unlock the Chisel Barrage shard from the Carpenter room and fully level it up, then equip Gebel’s Glasses which give you unlimited MP, it is by far one of the most broken abilities in the game.
This game was a crazy rollercoaster. I cried during the sad parts, and I legit screamed when that monster appeared on the train. I couldn't complete it, but I never stopped having fun, even after I beat it.
I'm surprised that he didn't mention that Shovel Knight is technically playable. (seeing as you can get the Ex-Shovel Armor, which turns Miriam into the Shovel Armor)
So here's something, the boss of Den of Behemoths steals your money to regen his health right? Its prob expected but it's pretty cool that if you go in with 0 money he'll just lump over saying "your flat broke!" When you deplete his hp the 1st time
Best metroidvania, period. I am almost done with everything, wow, it has been a ride. Its actually possible to fight so skilled, just avoid using potions and that skill will awaken.
Iga is really easy to beat on every difficulty by feeding him a facefuck full of maxed out carpenter boss' weapon. It basically Stunlocks...all the things.
Johannes is gonna load the alchemy washer with alchemy plates and clean them in lavender scented dawn. Dawn is a Dawn and probably cleans better than alchemy lol.
Nice. I got the platinum trophy a month after release, and recently returned to the game and take on the Randomized mode. And got stuck 9 hours in, without the ability to swim, but Teleporting and high jump like no tomorrow. I might just give up on the run as only one enemy is left to get a shard from and it's the 8-bit boss. But my armor is not good enough.
Awesome video for one of my fave games! As a sidenote I would love to see more wacky characters from Jirard that utilize his considerable acting skill! I really really love that infomercial lady.
Would love to see you do a Suikoden game. With its spiritual successors just recently getting funded on Kickstarter I think it would be cool to see you look at it's origins
So you *didn't* max out the Grade of every shard? I did so for every shard that it's possible to do in a single playthrough, but some of them (like boss shards) require 10 playthroughs to do so, as you an only kill them once in a playthrough.
That's why I hate Achievements. I'm not really that big of a completionist anymore, but when I was, back in the good ol' days, I did some insane stuff that went far beyond what developers would ever dare to make into an achievement. Stuff like maxing all my Aeons in FFX, maxing all my Stats in FF8 WITHOUT having any magic junctioned, getting max amount of every item possible and so on. Nowadays, I think that Achievements are just ruining the fun. I completed Bloodstained in the good ol' ocd way, by getting everything and maxing everything, but I did it on the Switch where there are no Achievements and guess what, it was fun! If I had to do the same shit because there was an Achievement locked behind doing it, I would have probably hated doing it and it would have indeed felt like tedium to me. And I would never do shit like Nightmare Zangetsu. Lv.1 Hard Shanoa was enough for me, because, quite honestly, games aren't as important to me anymore. And believe me, I used to be hardcore, when I was young. I would do Kick-Me-Sign Runs in God Hand, and I even finished DMC1 on Hard only with my feet, because I wanted to prove to my best friend that I could beat it that way. But nowadays, there are more important and more fun things to do than mastering a fucking vidya game. Especially since I realised that none of these skills last. When I was playing DMC1 on my Switch again, all the skills I had were gone. Sure, I still knew most of the tricks - because in DMC1, knowledge is more important than fast reflexes - but I got so frustrated sometimes, I couldn't believe it.
14:35 wait, how do you get to the den of beasts with zangetsu? the moon didnt turn red when i fought gebel and its other location remained normal for me...
I backed this and got the special cover for my PS4 copy. I even 100% this game. ^_^ It was SO much fun and I LOVED every second of it. Can't wait for a sequel.
Recently finished Curse of the Moon 1 and am looking forward to playing Ritual of the Night, as well as Curse of the Moon 2, in the near future. Hope to see the Curse of the Moon games on the show at some point.
Dude you have more to do now, classic mode and a new area thats supposedly open after you beat the boss that gives you the reflector skill. (The one that lets you bounce a light be off the wall then teliport to it)
I feel like platinum trophies are the sane version of completion. I sorta wish finiplete it came back with that sorta criteria but wonderful video regardless 😊
Is it just me or does Jirard sound like his nose is a bit clogged in these last few episodes? Maybe a new mic? Anywhosles, doesn't really matter 'cause great episode als always :)
I thoroughly enjoyed getting 100% of the shards, but that's about the extent of my completing in this game. I've loved the Igavanias as someone who finishes games and doesn't complete them!
Iga: "I have an idea" Konami: "We already have a solid new Contra game" Iga: (Leaves in disgust, slams door closed) (Opens door back up and says "Idiots" in Japanese, Slams door closed again)
i got all but a single hidden achievement for this game on my very first playthrough of this game, i really love this game =) i still haven't figured that achievement out though lol, i COULD look it up but i'll pass on that
Fun fact. When developing the bosses, they were told the they had to be possible to defeat with only a knife. It was to make sure that the all the bosses were possible to defeat with any weapon. If instead, they just designed the game without that limitation, it was possible that they would be broken. With bosses only being designed around a certain weapon you may not have
This looked like a fun game when the Beard Bros did a one off for it. As usual, I’m here for Jirard and the Completionest review even though I’ve never played this.
I just wish they worked a little bit better on the story, I was unlucky to buy it on the Switch and I'm really reluctant to buy it again on another console/pc. Hope the next game by Iga is better when it comes to story and graphics.
Bloodstained is one of my top 5 games. I could play it for ages and still not get bored. Sure the story is weak, but the gameplay is so good. That I dont really mind, it's like a fighting game, I'm not bothered about the Story of Tekken, I wanna Suplex people as a lucha tiger!
i dont know why but i always loved the act of farming enemies in the ds castlevania games including this idk why but its was really satisfying to go in and out of rooms killing the same enemy hoping to see what that rare item thy drop is maybe its just me idk......
just shows how disconnected Konami is from their consumer base anymore, Iga made another side-scrolling dungeon crawler without them, and TOTALLY made bank!
