The model of my power supply is an EVGA bronze 850 watt, the thing I don't like is that all of the wires are black so you have to find the pinouts. I also didn't shop around much, I just went to best buy and got what they had there for easy returns and no shipping time. It works but I believe amazon has 500 watt power supplies for like $25. Good luck.

please say you ment to say 300 watts? 4 ohms in good..... 500w RMS at 4ohm will sound a BIT better than 500w RMS at 2 ohms with a different amp but for 200 bucks you can get a cheap ass 500 watt amp, that should be decent quality. (im still kinda partial to alpine amps....all the sundown stuff uses cheap ass Chinese capacitors....its hard to find an amp with good quality jelly bean parts anymore....) and then for another 200 you can get a sundown SA12....which will sound fucking great on 500w ive got a 1000w RMS first gen alpine PDX on a 2nd gen alpine type R 12.....about 500w going to it. and it gets DOWN not as loud as my two type rs....but i blew up one.... sound quality at 4omh 1 sub is better than 2 ohm 2 sub however...much better also running an eclipse 3640....4 channel at 40w 4ohm 0.003% THD.....more around 60w RMS at 1% THD made in USA with nipppon chemicon caps.... quality, as its from 1999 and still going that amp is like....100 bucks today and that would be a killer ass system...if i can toot my own horn ~50w rms for door/rear deck speakers is MORE than enough (unless my amp is THAT underrated) and 500w for a single 12 will blow your mind compared to 30!!!

Ohm load absolutely changes the quality of the sound. Low ohm loads draw more current from the amplifier which heats up all of the components making the amp work to an uncomfortable level. Hot components sound shit, warm components sound good. Cold components also sound shit. All of that said you're probably not going to notice on a subwoofer. Experiment with your mids and highs on a low impedance circuit vs high impedance. One is much louder but has more chance of introducing distortion from heat.

When your rebuilding a subwoofer with better parts, it would be a waste NOT blowing them up. The old parts are defective, and need tearing out regardless.
