He definitely made it his own - MJ used a type of head voice not whistle. Gabriel has been singing since really little - his father is a pastor in Brazil. His actual voice has a beautiful, emotionally charged tone to it, even when he is singing normally. His own songs are in Portuguese.

Ghe VERY high runs he was doing, is called whistle tone register. Its VERY rare in singers in general, especially in men. There are well trained singers that can activate the whistle register, but to be able to have the freedom and fluidity he has up there, is nothing short of MASTERFUL. He is undoubtedly one of the best vocalists overall out there right now. Disrespectfully talented and well trained.

Michael was an entertainer. Gabriel is a great vocalist. Big difference. Michael couldn't hit the notes Gabriel can and Michael had to have vocal training while Gabriel taught himself to sing. No vocal training at all. He's brilliant. He is known for his whistling which he does as easily as Mariah. He has whistled up to a D7. The only male who whistled higher was Dimash who hit a D8 but Gabriel whistles with vibrato and his runs and vibrato are the best in the world. Thanks for your reaction.
