Great video thanks so much! Just got a spinet piano from my in laws. My grandpa was a professional piano tuner, wish he was here to help me out. When I push the keys down slowly, the hammer won't make contact with the strings. The hammer will let off about a 1/2 inch before it gets to the string. So this video is incredibly helpful. Took me hours to figure out it was called "let off." Still trying to figure out what the let off should be set to. Gonna keep searching your channel for more great tips! Thanks so much!
Thank you for this video! Quick question... If you adjust let off to 1/8 inch and [some of] the hammers start to bobble, what adjustment should I make? Does it mean that the piano cannot have let off at 1/8 inch, or is there some other adjustment that comes later that will correct that?
@Brigham Larson Pianos Thanks! I'll check that. I really appreciate your willingness to help. If I were closer to your area, I'd love to take some classes.
@@roadguide123Sort of. I adjusted the backchecks, which took care of the bobbling, but I still need to do some fine adjusting to the aftertouch. I don't have it regulated quite the way I want it. It's a drop action, so it's been finicky.
