You're absolutely right! This is as good as it gets. The vocal is sublime, effortless, and pitch perfect; the supporting musicians get as close as mere humans could to matching Linda's performance.
Just when you think she took it as far as possible, she takes it to yet another level on the last couple of phrases and blows the roof off the building! Wow!
We're talking about class when it comes to Linda. Adele is fifth rate at best compared to Linda. Linda always had the cream of the crop backing her too, absolute legends like Andrew Gold, Don Grolnick, Waddy Wachtel, Dan Dugmore, Kenny Edwards, Russ Kunkel and Danny Kortchmar. Nobody came close to Linda who possessed the best pipes in the business.
Have listened to other people singing this in the last couple of days. But they can't get the same out of it that Linda does. Her voice just is so great. Can listen all day.
Her father is Mexican and she had an Album called Canciones de mi Padre (My Father's Songs). Listen to it. She sings them Beautifully!! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RPEKi6pAXnk.html. Go to this link and hear her sing Blue Bayou in Spanish completely. It's so Beautiful!!
Amazing concert .... watch the other videos from the same concert truly amazing. Recorded live at Television Center studios, Hollywood, CA on April 24, 1980.
I have many favorite female singers/vocalists. But Linda takes the throne hands down. There isn’t and there will never be another voice even close to hers.
Amorcito mio .. ..ami lado estas luna plata color cristal ya podre olvidar el cruel dolor que me hizo llorar y contenta estaré con mi amor y tu en mi lago azuul ❤❤
I feel so bad I got a worried mind I'm so lonesome all the time Since I left my baby behind On Blue Bayou Saving nickles, saving dimes Working til the sun don't shine Looking forward to happier times On Blue Bayou I'm going back someday Come what may To Blue Bayou Where the folks are fun And the world is mine On Blue Bayou Where those fishing boats With their sails afloat If I could only see That familiar sunrise Through sleepy eyes How happy I'd be Gonna see my baby again Gonna be with some of my friends Maybe I'll feel better again On Blue Bayou Saving nickles saving dimes Working til the sun don't shine Looking forward to happier times On Blue Bayou I'm going back someday Come what may To Blue Bayou Where the folks are fun And the world is mine On Blue Bayou Where those fishing boats With their sails afloat If I could only see That familiar sunrise Through sleepy eyes How happy I'd be Oh that boy of mine By my side The silver moon And the evening tide Oh some sweet day Gonna take away This hurting inside Well I'll never be blue My dreams come true On Blue Bayou
