On a cruise to pick up firewood, takes us around beautiful, wild waters. Sadly our camp was less pristine but we didn't let that ruin our time and delt with it...
Awesome Roy and Dianne , we are 90% done with our boat build of Dianne’s Rose mini house boat. Thanks Roy for great boat plans and all your help with it. Peace
I'm happy to help Paul! I'm on the home trench with MiniD, too. Worked on the trailer today. Some paint is needed and the windows installed, and I can get her out of the shop.
Ya, I can't understand people who do that. AS I said, I think they lack something...We don't fuss too much, though, and just clean up so we can return to our happy place! BestRoy
They must have thought housekeeping would take care of it. Between Minnesota and Wisconsin we have the St. Croix River where a lot of people camp or picnic on the islands and they had to put out floating Port-A-Potties and trash cans because so many people were leaving messes. It is too bad everybody wasn't taught to leave a site better then you found it!
People who leave a mess like that are basically what one would consider "Morally Bankrupt". They also lack respect for themselves since if they did have self respect they wouldn't put a black mark on their own reputations by being slobs like that and of course if they don't have respect for themselves how can one expect them to show respect for anyone or anything else. It started with little things like how parents stopped telling their children to wipe their feet on the entrance mat before entering a store and then has progressed on from there. Best!
Good day. Beautiful footage and great looking vessel. I'm looking at a Dianne's Rose design vessel that is for sale. It looks extremely similar to your vessel. If you don't mind me asking, is there anything you don't personally like about the vessel or anything I should watch out for? Are the short doors an issue to go through? I'm only 5' 8". I'm looking at this trailerable design because it doesn't appear to ride as high as the Yukon Deltas and the pontoon houseboats when being towed. I do appreciate your time and any advise you can give.
Hi Mathew, we are very happy with our DIANNE'S ROSE! The doors are not a problem, exciting from inside is done naturally while entering is done by stepping in sideways and then the last step backwards. There is a handle on the inside to hold! Once you've done it, it is second nature! The shallow draft, with the hull not full flat bottom but it has "V"d side sections that rise to the waterline! This hull shapemakes her great in rougher water! Some have lengthened their builds, which is easy to do and adds space as individuals need! WE find our 17' length is perfect as we poke into small creeks and coves but can turn on a dime! Also trailering, is workable with a 6cyl van needing a larger tow vehicle! The interior has 6ft 8 1/2inches clearance inside! My tall friends are surprised by the headroom. You'll note the curved roof detail, it helps lower the profile so that wind is far less an issue than some have thought! We just need to watch when going dead slow. The wide bow is actually a great feature as we come to the dock bow first!!! Step off and tie up, saving the trouble of "siding" up to docks! Let me know the boat you are looking at, I do know most of them! AllthebestRoy
@@roydesignedthat Thanks for taking the time for that detailed answer. Much appreciated. The one I'm looking at is "The Oasis" over in western Arkansas and has a length of 24 feet. I drive V8 1/2 ton trucks so I should be good to go as far as towing. I've got about a four hour drive Friday when I go inspect it.
@@roydesignedthat Thanks. I hope it goes well. I'm absolutely sick of trying to book waterfront RV sites at the local lakes. Time to think outside the box.
@mathewdavis-adventuresandd6643 that is the part we love! Free camping!!! We still sometimes need to pay to launch and park but it is much cheaper than booking a campsite! Often gas is the only expense! That said, we do need to go North to find the best cruising Down by us, there are a lot of cottages! Finding a quieter spot to camp is harder. AllthebestRoy
