Blue Celestite in one of Tennessee's longest caves: Blue Spring Cave!

Come along with us as we explore one of Tennessee's longest caves. We see lots of gypsum in the form of flowers, beards, rope and needles. We also see blue calcite which is rare in a cave. This cave is over 40 miles in length and we had permission to visit. Thank you to the landowner, who discovered/explored this cave and allows Cavers to visit.

Nice! The recording kept stopping and starting, repeating about a second each time. That was alot of gypsum. Gypsum was said 53 times (no, I didn't really count), but it was alot of gypsum. Lol. Thanks for taking us along. Happy New Year.

Sorry, late comment. I am so happy to see you post a Video of this Great cave. I was lucky to be one of the first few people to see it after the 'BREAK-THROUGH". The original crawl into this cave was so pleasant (#!!%$%!!!). (NOT)! That was a great high-Quality post. I would recommend the next time you visit to see the "Cathedral Room" a fun easy trip with outstanding formations. I would love to see more of this cave. I did have the pleasure to make it back to the BAGHDAD BREAKDOWN. It almost killed me. You take the {NA) survey. Talk about a LONG trip, I was a walking Zombie for Days after that trip. Thank you again for EXCELLANT CONTENT. Mill Hollow will be a BLAST! I will keep you updated on that one, but it will be later this spring or summer.

we have been to the cathedral room.a few times, even been past the na survey all the way to the preacher Dome. We helped survey that area with Marion O Smith about 10 years ago. Only bad thing is this cave is a two hour drive for us so we don't make it up that often.

@@tag_caver Great, I didn't know if you had seen this cave. Yep, that is a long drive for me as well. I have never seen the Preacher Dome. You have seen more of this cave than I have. I did a small mop up trip years ago but never made it that far. LOVE YOUR CHANNAL! I can't wait to meet you and Jason in person.

very awesome adventure...thankyou for taking us along... i live in this aera... its so cool the land scape here... there is a place along cedar creek yer walking a dry creekbed can hear and feel an under ground waterfall benieth you... you all take care an keep yer toes warm

I have only ever visited the original entrance , right after the big breakthrough . They had less than 5 miles surveyed at that point and we surveyed another mile or so and toured a bit more . I should probably go back some time and see the rest , lol .

If we lived closer, we would definitely explore more there but it's a two hour drive and we pass thousands of other caves on the way to it.

Great tour, has anyone found any human prints, tools, or artwork in this cave (other than recent graffiti?)

Sweet explore! So, how do you know those prints weren't made by a cougar?

Thank you. I am no expert, but I believe paleontologist have been inside to identify them. They had previously found more of the same tracks in a nearby section of cave. They are too large to be any modern day cat.
