Always looking for blue collar workers in my area and a lot of the jobs will pay you to work as you learn just put the video games and smart phones down and apply yourself and the world is yours
Why the hell would you go into so much debt just to get a job, that’s counter productive, 200k loan , oh please , you can buy a house with that kind of money . I graduated college three years ago , hell , I didn’t have a good job yet
Most teachers in most high schools push for college and the kids that push back and going into some technical trade or skilled trade make more money then a college and are debt free at 18 or 19 years old. 42$ an hour as a commercial and industrial water valve specialist. I hold my plumbing and fire protection license do I can work the valve and everything after it. And attended 6 years of school to work on water valves or all sizes. I did take advantage of the plumbing program at a community college.
@Anthony Morris Take up both machinists technical education along with mechatronics. Machinists and master machinists are very much in demand in designing and building generic and basic and specialized and specific and customized machine tools used to make mechatronics engineering components.
Yeh the only thing I would recommend college for is engineering, to be a doctor, or a attorney I’m in my sophomore year of high school but I already have a pla once I get out of high school
Eagle Man indeed they are! All they teach is theory and progressive ideologies! We need more practical education that will get students a job ASAP rather than have them become indebted and indoctrinated in radical liberalism for 4 years and no useful skills for the workplace.
@@ninoaaron2116 you guys have a real bad case of inferiority complex. It’s cuz you know deep down no matter how much you tell yourself you’re doing fine and how much money you make, society still respects the man who went to an elite college way more than you. Your wife probably wishes she could’ve married someone who went to college deep down, and you know it which is why you have developed this weird inferiority complex
Most people don’t realize learning a skill can lead to self employment. I live on a lake that’s very desirable and located just outside of an expensive city, most the rich people come here to escape the city noise and still be close to work. Homes on the lake can cost $500k-$600k for a small 900sqt cabin and there are quite a few large mansions that start around $3m as well, the majority of people who live in mansions are blue collar and the majority of people living in small cabins are doctors and collage professors who even when they own a second home still don’t add up to the skill trade workers who even themselves own hunting lodges up north. The attack on the upper classes and working classes by the poor and middle class left really grinds my gears I have never seen such a condensed group of narcissist in one place. These people will attack anyone they think is inferior to them even if that person is well above them on the food chain, when they can’t win financially they will look for anything to attack these people from spelling errors to what they eat or how they dress. The left truly is the brokest saddest group of people ever and all they wanna do is release their narcissistic rage on anyone who dares go against the grain and live out happier and much more fulling lives than they do.
Wasted the last 6 years in hvac only making max 18 an hour and I’m in CT THERES NO MONEY IN THE TRADES DONT LISTIN TO BS so I’m going into college at 24 as a freshmen and it will be worth the debt yall go bust yall ass for 18 an hour after 6 years Experience in CT the min wage bouts be 15 and a journeyman hvac guy witch is what I am only making 18 yea no thanks college is the way to go trust me don’t fall into the trades trap
But... If you do it right and have the brain to become a doctor or an engineer you can work till you are 80years old sometimes. As a tradesman you are going to get health issues that are going to stop you from doing it at 50-60. Yes I would say If you are smart go to the RIGHT college and get a real job. Become a surgeon or orthodontist- they are like tradesmen with a diploma. Also to become a good mechanic it takes 7-10 years so you wan't get six figs straight out of school.
Listen...honestly....I have a Liberal Arts degree....heavy in all 200 level science courses.......and then an RN degree.... Who in their' right mind would want to be an RN after working in it for 10+ years? aaaaahhhhhhhh. NOT me. If I were even 35 years old again....I'd learn a trade....
Frank From Upstate NY dam man I’m droppin out of college trying to choose a trade right now in the Boston area ,what do u think is the best and easiest to learn .?
I worked in HVACR for several years to earn money for college. It’s hard and dirty work but you learn plumbing, electrical, and mechanical troubleshooting skills. The dishonest HVAC techs and plumbers are the ones making six figures and they have no life and are always on call and working weekends. Now, I write code and design circuit boards and don’t have to crawl through hot attics and climb dangerous ladders.
I think it depends on the trade though cause my dad was a tradesman, did vocational training and wad working in mason but the work was very slow in the winter time and didnt offer benefits, so he took a job that was full time working delivery for sears that had benefits, also they are showing cosmetologists, idk any cosmetologists in my town who are making six figures a year :/ try $10 an hour having to rent a chair and maybe getting good tips but still no health insurance.........
I don’t consider cosmetology a technical career but it definitely requires training. My friend’s wife has a college degree but went back to cosmetology school because that’s what she wanted to do.
@@ZacBaldwin_ well at the school im going to be going to this year since i just moved they have a career center to try and get kids to work a blue collar job and they teach you all sorts of things so rn im on a rampage looking for a job that makes really good money and i can come out debt free in like a year or two and if being a lineman is it thats what im gonna do. go to a technical school and get a degree and come out as an apprentice and work my way to become a journeymen lineman and be making bigggg bucks and maybe even more than my sister will after 4 years undergrad at penn state and then 4 years to become a PA i could be making a little less to maybe a little more than her and i will be starting young she will be like 24-26 when she starts working and even starts trying to get out of debt and in the mean time im gonna be going to a tech college and going slightly in debt and probably making my way out of debt in like a years worth of work and then be making more than she will be when she is 26 just starting out because i will have had 8 years working and prob be a journeyman lineman by then making more than she is and maybe will be in her next couple years then idk maybe get a pension havent looked into seeing if you do get a pension with this but even if i dont my dad always said try and get a good job with a pension the retire and run a mail carrier route for a double pension and you can retire with 2 forms of income and live decent the rest of your life
your statement in general is quite vague, most software devs make far more w/ less hours, tech support obviously they make way less. If you know how to program and can solve problems you will have far more potential avenues to make an income than construction.
I previously worked blue collar and it’s vastly overrated. There is not enough money in the world to get me to return to skilled trade jobs. The truth is that they are not anymore necessary than some white collar work. In the end, every individual needs to find what is helpful for them, and I don’t mean having a fat paycheck. With that said, I do what works for me and yes I do white collar work now, so whenever those judgemental skilled tradespeople snubs and looks down on me for it, I say now “Judge not least you be judge and May God wake you up and God bless.” I have nothing against anyone who is open to anyone doing jobs that both work for the individual as well as others and who is honest about the downsides of working a skilled trade job. Many will deny it otherwise, but the truth always comes out. Many skilled trade jobs are overrated and unnecessary and come with their own hazards and high stress. That’s reality.
@@stuckcontactor5826 see? We were told "There is a shortage of tradesmen." BS There is a shortage of people wanting to bust their ass to make lil money to be able to buy stupidly expensive tools
See, with that attitude is the reason we get paid so much. We don't get paid little. In my area we have a very low cost of living... This is all union figures. Laborers: $25/hr Operators: $36/hr Electricians + Boilermakers: $36/hr Pipefitters: $33/hr Carpenters: $25/hr Plus an average of $20/hr for benefits. You could easily make 75K-100K in each trade here in my local area if you work a good amount of overtime. Yes, some trades you have to buy tools and as long as you're good with tools and don't lose them then you don't have to replace them. Next time you decide to say something is a lie, take your dumbass out of the ground and actually research, oh and don't be lazy. We work hard, not stupid. We take breaks if needed and work in big crews so we don't over exert ourselves.
@@j.w.5510 come to the south and watch your figures dry up in the sun. Part of the problem with trade work is, the pay is great only in certain parts of the country.
It’s a scam I promise. To make that figure you will work 7 days a week, 12 hours a day. Also being away from home for months at a time. My advice if you don’t have a degree, get into oilfield, railroad, or towboating. You will have a rotating schedule, and the railroad is amazing retirement and home everyday. These 3 pay decent to highly well. Also need ZERO experience.
@Dirty Harry like my dad he basically has vertical scoliosis lmao he has "shrunk" because he is a humpback from doing all the auditing and business intelligence for big companies like lego and turtle beach and he's making a fixed income of like 110k plus what sales he has sold and he hates his life because he has 3 rebelious teens because he is losing control over us since we make our own decisions now and hes also an alcoholic and i want to become a journeymen lineman and make more money than him being active and dangerous 2 things i love active work and adrenaline
