Well I don't know about blue but this sure is a fun pattern. I kept this one for my personal use and love it.
About The Materials
This is a blue stabilized corn cob
Chrome non-postable (can't put the cap on the end) fountain pen
Finish is CA
Experiences:
It had several voids that had to be filled in with CA, so this took many coats of CA to build up.
It's not very blue. The dust that came out of the center was very blue and there are places that are still blue but for the most part it is natural with some blue dots.
Not sure why but the finish has now cracked. It still looks good but probably not a sellable item. I probably did not give it enough time to setup on it's own with that many coats.
This was a thick pen kit so it worked well for size. I would never try a slimline, there would not be enough "corn" left to have a pattern. You can see what happen when I tried to use one for a twist pen here: • What went wrong? Turni...
I know you could make a twist or clicker size but the chance of turning past the corn pattern is pretty good in my opinion.
