I have never thought of testing the level of oil leak by seeing if I can leave a foot print in it. Sounds like a valid test criteria though.

I need this stuff to try and stop a small leak on my wife’s grand Cherokee! Pretty sure it’s the rear main seal and I really don’t feel like spending an entire day out on the ground fixing it so I’m going to give this blue devil stuff a try, wanted to watch some reviews first before I put something in her engine without knowing anything about it haha watched your video because I also have a Camaro...2012 Black Mamba !!! Love my camaro by far my favorite vehicle I’ve owned to drive so much fun and just a great car all around luckily I haven’t had any leaks or issues with mine yet...only 50K miles though

but on the bottle it says permanent repair? so why would you need to change the gaskets if it says permanent repair?

it may be 'permanent' for lightly damaged gaskets and seals. Mine clearly were beyond that. It happens. I made a follow up video after this

Can this work on my timing chain cover? Its hads a lil leak thnaks man
@gerrysill7683
@gerrysill7683 Год назад
I have been informed by the Ford Dealership's mechanic that I have the beginnings of a Timing Cover leak and it was a big job, 12 -15 hrs. They quoted me an estimate of +/- $2400. CAD to repair the leak in the sealant. Okay, I asked the mechanic if there was any product that may resolve this leak as I personally could not confirm that there was a leak but my car is a 2015 Ford Explorer with 85, 000 klms on the odometer. The answer was "NO!" So I searched Google and discovered the Blue Devil products and this video. Now I am waiting on a second opinion from another certified garage. Question, since the leakage appears to be in its infancy might this product provide a permanent cure? If not what amount of time might I have before being forced to have the big job of replacing the silicon seal around the housing of the timing belt? Thanks, Gerry
@gvaspirated
@gvaspirated Год назад
Gerry, thanks for commenting. FYI, I'm not a sales representative of the company or a technician of the product, just a guy reviewing a product/solution that I've encountered. That being said, I've found that the leaks in the infancy tend to be "fixed" to the point where it no longer leaks and can provide a couple of weeks/months of protection from critical spills, leaks, gushes. I wouldn't go out of my way and say it's a permanent solution, but it definitely has helped me prolong the life of the seals. Now the aspect of "well the solution could harm the engine" , I regretfully didn't explore information on that. I haven't had any issues at all relevant to that. I hope this helps!

I'm assuming you have to be driving, but my question is do you have to be driving or can you just run the car and maybe shift the gears from time to time I'm willing to try it but I don't think this will not work for me because I have a very bad leak and bad slipping. Sometimes they will be no motion forward or reverse but if I turn the car off and restart it I'll have forward and reverse motion again. I drove home 50 miles like this it was very slow but sometimes I would get up to 50 miles an hour and had to keep adding transmission fluid. Seven quarts that night

I think your leakage or situation is beyond the repair of this bottle bro. This is really good for small to mid size rips, lesions, etc. Anything more and it would probably leak out too.

I currently have a valve cover gasket leak only after 18 months/8000 or so miles after replacing it. I work at home, so most driving is luxury or necessities. Can't tell if the guy I paid did it wrong, the product was faulty or whatever else, but I'm gonna try this out, see if I get a little more life out of the gasket and see if I don't have to pay a "legit" guy $400+ for labor now. 2006 Infiniti G35 X 110k Miles

For this level on vehicle and not having the funding to fix it properly your best bet is just to keep adding oil and checking the oil level every day or so

What about the oil stop makes it really bad for the engines?
@victorh8863
@victorh8863 Год назад
@@gvaspirated These products are quick and cheap fix, those are potentially harmful to other components of the engine. Now, assuming you do a flush and don't wait too long to change it. But the only thing that should be in your engine is motor oil.
@victorh8863
@victorh8863 Год назад
Also it depends on how much oil you are losing, some leaks are worse than others. So, products like these are more suited towards old buicks with 250k or more rather than a highend sport car with more technology. I had a dealership add uv dye and i drove it for a while and the engine was running very weird. I have since than resealed the oil pan which caused the leak

Its recommended to drive a certain amount after application to see a difference. I think it was like 100 miles? So daily driving habits are fine or you can take the car for a couple of farther places. For me 100 miles is done very quickly, in like 2-3 days or if I go up north.
