Some corps sometimes have people play different instruments for a part of the show, for example, in 2014, carolina crown had the whole brass section switch to trumpet/mello for the high brass feature. Usually though the most common example is baris/euphs switching to trombones
I’m going to be honest I don’t really like most of the show but you can’t deny the energy and talent of every single member in the Corp during the year because they are really fucking amazing especially the mellos and it makes me want to do dci even more
This is really cool seeing this from the field. I was in the stands to see this. I love that people think of filming this from the field so we have a different perspective.
@@LANHATCH I know, I just know that he was section leader and decided to make a joke about it, i know him personally LOL he used to teach my high school for '18 marching season and '19 winter season. if u show him this comment, tell him it's Mikey
Your whole mellophone section should like... Idk... Give me all your gold plated piston caps, and finger thinga magigs, and like teacher me how to surpass a senior...
Oh wow. Yall leaving Euphs/Baris/Contras behind. (Ok, maybe playing a treble clef instrument isn't that bad, i've learned the way of mello and f horn, yet I play tbone/euph. Do you accept me into the kingdom of high brass, or do I just vibe with all of my low brass homies who go to bdubs after games?) Percussion is... ok
Imagine going into horns down set position This post was made by the blue devils show designers Jokes aside, there were two moments where they genuinely went to horns down set position, one for effect of articulation and another for someother effect that i dont necessarily understand.
It looks like two performances were edited together to create this clip. Notice how many of the parts where he’s playing the mellophone is at an outdoor stadium. You also see when he approaches the prop to manipulate it in several instances. Discuss...
Yeah it's quite obvious, one is a rehearsal and another is the performance. No need for discussion, it's just what it is. Pretty well edited together I'd say.
Lan Hatch well it depends on what you consider a mello mouthpiece because a mello mouthpiece could be a standardized trumpet mouthpiece like a dome like shape or a french horn mouthpiece which is in the shape of a cone. Granted this is coming from a orchestra/classical background and i understand blue devils make their own mouthpieces but there is only so much you could change with a mouthpiece before it becomes something totally different than what the normal player is used to.
