Hi Alex, I am one of the new members of the Blue Devil member selection team. You look and sound fantastic, but I'm afraid you're just not quite the type of player we are looking for heading into the 2024 season. If you have any questions or would like some more specific feedback, feel free to reach out to me personally. I would be happy to refer you to other corps that fit your style of playing, such as Heat Wave of Florida, Santa Clara Vanguard, or Star of Indiana. Best of luck to your marching career, and I hope to see you again in future auditions!
Alex, I was exited to see another Fugel solo, guess not. But I belive in you and you are a very good trumpet player. You probably have inspired multiple people to be in Blue Devils, especially me.
How are they not letting Alex go in to DCI again, if he’s already been in it for two years and has been one of the best flugelhorn players I’ve ever heard.
Hi, Alex! Do you know the minimum age to try out for DCI blue devils? I am a freshman Tuba player for my school, and I want to try out. I already know how to play the Contra Tubas(My band director is against using sousaphones), and I am a fast learner which should help me learn the drills
If you're serious, I'd say BD is a big stretch but you could definitely try for other corps next year. In the Cascades in the lower world class range we've had people as young as 15. Even if you're doing the corps to get your foot in the door for another corps, lower level corps are a great experience and you're still doing drum corps.
