cause most of the people like a smooth ride, than feeling the heck out of every bump...especially uneven concrete highway...also watch out for a death wobble on solid front axles

Vanison Zore If I had to guess. Its a vortec. I only say that cause I have a 1995 and I think that was the last year they had the "Chevrolet" strip on the tailgate. 1995 was also the split year to the vortec. Could be wrong but it's my guess lol

Vortec started in 1996 and the strip on the tailgate was still around after 95

samantha elgin Yes. I dont know why most people go with a left side drop (Ford/Dodge) axle but it be easier just to get a Dana 60 out of an old Chevy

Shooter McGavin to use the Chevy axle u need to change transfer case and drive shafts both also some like the high cross over steering but idk the real advantage of that.
