even after 10 years old, i still can teach my blue heely new tricks like sniffing out bags of weed, cant believe it took less than a few minutes to turn him into a drug dog

I once had a bad night. I was sad and decided to lay on my front steps and stare at the stars. My blue heeler Ruby became noticeably uneasy. I think she did not like me being in such a vulnerable position outside. She laid down on the step next to me, and she placed her chin across my neck. I dozed off, but was startled awake because she had begun growling with her chin still laying across my neck. I opened my eyes and just laid there for a moment until i heard someone walking through my grass in my front yard. As the person approached i heard a voice say, "Ruby, its just me" and recognized the voice as my best friend whom she knows very well. He got a few feet away from me and Ruby lifted her head off of me, showed her teeth, and started to snarl. It was clear she was not messing around. I said, "Its ok, Ruby." She instantly stopped snarling and licked my face. I was thoroughly impressed with how protective she was, knowing i was in such a vulnerable position, even against someone she knows well and knows is not a threat. Also, with how quickly she stopped by me just simply telling her its ok. Incredibly smart and loyal.

I have one with 4 kid ranging from 6 to 15 and hes great with the kids and one of the best dogs iv ever owned

They’re not only very smart but, super loyal and obedient if you work with them daily. We love our boy Jasper.

Make sure that you are the smarter one, and keep him TIRED. You'll be fine...

Before people encroach on the endeavor of an Australian cattle dog. Do Not let there size deceive you. That is A LOT of Dog and you will soon become aware of their demands.

One pro not mentioned is that these dogs are so loyal and affectionate! If they have a con it’s that they don’t care what size animal they encounter. They have NO fear! If threatened they will attack and fight to the death! It might be the Dingo in them! Lo😂

If we raise our voice just a little he jumps up to my side puts nose on neck, his paw on my chest. Very Protective & Loving

My boy Keegan is half heeler and aussie shepard or Boarder collie you can see the Blue Heeler in him very protective my shadow great with digs super social i trained him that way he know lots of dog and their owners speaking for him he's great love him lots of walks board game carrots blueberries

The closest you can get to owning a wild animal!!!!!! Some people say that they are working dogs. I think that they are just Fun Dogs, who just happen to love being kicked in the head by Cattle.😂

I don’t think I’ve ever heard a heeler bark aside from a warning bark. They’re pretty well known for their silence with the exception of growling when they don’t want to be messed with.
