After many google searches that usually ended in me watching your videos, I'm about to buy a Shure SM48 and a Blue Icicle for streaming. I wanted to get the Audio-Technica ATR2100x or Samson Q2U but neither are in stock ANYWHERE in Canada. The Shure SM48 also looks like a way better mic than either of those. Thank you for all your insight!

This Blue Icicle was a disaster story for me, I'll just share it here and sorry for my english. I could not get rid of a strange noise sound (not background sound because I could hear it when volume at 0) with a dynamic SM58 XLR. You're right about the build quality... 2 or 3 months after purchase, I just wanted to unplug the usb cable from it and the entire interior followed outside the tube with the cable... I've seen people having good experience but I've seen more having a bad one because of some defective units batch so beware I guess.

I have a rode nt1-a and just recently combined it with a yamaha ag-06. the yamaha comes with presets for vocals, podcasting and Instruments. it even features a virtual guitar amp but there are better solutions for that out there. i use the rode with the yamaha preset called "vocal male condenser microphone". more than happy with it.

i had one of these 4years ago, you can't hear your voice when recording on it like you can with a interface it doesn't have a high gain, but it sounds good as hell when your done recording, almost no background noise when using it

Hi, I bought an icicle with a RODE NT2A a few years ago and experienced really low outputs from my mic even with the gain on the Icicle at max. I think this may have been due to the 44.4V it outputs not being quite enough? As the problem has occured since both the interface and mic were new, I don't believe it's a problem with condensation on the mics membrane as commonly reported. I'm hoping to have a scarlett 2i2 arrive soon, so I can test whether the slight increase in power fixes my problem!

I used it with my old baby bottle microphone I connected it directly to the mic it worked great!

Could you use this backwards as well? I have a usb mic id like to plug-in to my pre amp. My pre amp uses thunderbolt instead of usb

I want to connect my Warm Audio preamp to my computer. Can this device work or will the phantom power damage my preamp’s output? Can I use it without phantom power?

The volume was much better on the icicle and behringer to me. USB sound card was very low, but adjusting gain through software might fix that. No difference in quality so far as I could hear.

don't have a lot of money but want the professional flexibility of real XLR equipment? the Icicle and a Blue Ember is a great place to start.

you never explained the signal path for us... Is that pre-amp bi-directional? Meaning can I run the signal in reverse usb mic to xlr out to run the my blue yeti through a mixer and then back to the computer so I can get full eq on the usb mic

How can i avoid white noise sound ? I have a shure m58 and just bought the icicle but there’s tons of consistent white noise. Could it be that I’m using a usb-usbc hub in my MacBook or a problem with the icicle?

I'd say your plosives filter doesn't work all that well, through the majority of the video. I'm sure you knew that, but it seems really tiny. Maybe that's why?

i need help with something i have a xlr mic [nw-700] with the phantom power supply lol i stream from ps4 straight to twitch i have voice mod on pc i also use ps4 cam for recording i have a usb sound card [one side headphone one side mic] for my laptop so basically i want to use my xlr mic threw my pc then threw voice mod to my ps4 , n then to hear my friends i would just use tv amplifier wut would i need to achieve this i was thinking a mixer or pre amp but im not sure which one lol and im kind of on a budget so the cheaper the better

Hello, i dont know if you will see this but do you still recommend this for XLR condenser mics? it is currently on sale and way cheaper than the Bheringer audio interface. I figured to just buy a BM 800 and get this instead of an interface. just for refernce: I'm doing amateur vocal recording.

Had mine about 5 years, nice sounds but just as he said... not built to last.. dropped it last week from a two foot table .. careless of me yes.. but it is a really light item like cheap plastic you would find from some dollar store toys.. not sure what a top brand like Icicle was thinking when they developed aesthetics.. no sole input controls on the device itself..... I say this with empathetic intent that you can find something better for the price or get a preowned

A potable phone charger will power on the icicle.But can i hear myself with a condenser mic cause some condenser mic's i can plug my headphones into. Because I'm trying to use a condenser mic without a computer.I want more then 1 backup plan.Cause when I'm out and about i want to record a verse ? I think the Irig might do that trick ?
