@@michaeladams5636i’ll start by saying not having a major league caliber cleanup hitter since we traded Teo in 2022, or we could also talk about that nightmare of an end of season press conference last year when he took 0 accountability and essentially blamed everything on John Schneider. Keep in mind this is just the tip of the iceberg

@@michaeladams5636 Bo is not a cleanup hitter. Hasn’t had and probably will never have the power to be one. Jays just pencil him in there because he’s all they got. However he’s the perfect 2 hole hitter when he’s not sucking and leading the league in hits like he used to.

@@munenorikawasaki7796 Well he should be hitting 30-35 home runs and driving in 140+ like he father did in 1996, I don’t see how that’s not a cleanup hitter considering he hit 29 homers 2 or 3 years ago. But yes your right they need some bats to replace Teo and Semien a 38 year old Turner won’t cut it.

Atkins changed the team for the worst with his run prevention strategy and he should be held accountable for it by being removed before he creates more damage.

He and Mark Shapiro are the two and only reasons that my son and I will not be attending any more Blue Jay games for now and into the future. Please bring back Alex A. and we will return to Jays home games but not till then. Ross Atkins is most famous for recently holding a Press Conference on a Saturday morning in the middle of a long weekend, showing how afraid he is of the Press and Public.

Maybe you're remembering wrong, but the Jays were pretty bad with A.A. Anthopolus only made one great team and had to gut the farm system to do it. I don't think Shapiro/Atkins are doing a good job, but rehiring AA is not the solution.

Trading Teoscar Hernandez and Lourdes Gurriel was the biggest mistake this guy made and he made a lot of mistakes…

Those trades only affected 2023, due to expiring contracts. His mistake was not replacing or signing them back when he saw the problems of 2023.

Toronto got into the playoffs last year only because of Texas and then got dummied. Horrible take. Toronto had pop and power in 2021 Atkins and company completely dismantled that. Nothing more than a cold corporate team with no identity

The Teo and Lourdes trades only affected the 2023 season. After seeing how the offense had taken a hit that season, Atkins had a chance to beef up the offense before 2024, but didn't. He even had the opportunity to re-sign Teo and/or Lourdes in free agency, but didn't. It seems as though Ross is unable to adapt to changes, and sticks with his plans even if it's obvious they're not working.

Eventually fans are gonna be apathetic cause it’s so clear nobody cares about anything. Emily Agard can advertise how cool the Roger’s centre is during broadcasts but that ain’t convincing anyone to show up. If they dont fire Shapiro and Atkins soon they will finish last for the next 10 years. The 2 trades they made last year destroyed the team. Trading Moreno and Gurriel for Varsho ranks as one of the worst trades the Jays have ever made. Trading Teo for Swanson was another disaster

The two trades messed up the 2023 season, due to expiring contracts. He had the opportunity to sign them back in free agency or adequately replace them. He did neither.

Weak scouting has led to some poor top draft picks in the Atkins era, from T.J. Zeuch and J.B. Woodman in 2016, Logan Warmoth and Nate Pearson in 2017, Jordan Groshans with the 12th pick in 2018 and Austin Martin with the 5th overall pick in 2020. In fact, not a single 1st round pick under Ross Atkins made the Blue Jays’ 2023 AL Wild Card playoff roster.

Let's not forget that Shatkins traded away Gabriel Moreno for Varsho. That is the biggest mistake... trading away a generational talent catcher whereas corner OF's are much more abundant. Atkins rubs me the wrong way. It is almost like he has an air of arrogance where he cannot admit to mistakes. What rookie GM has had a 10-year run?

I would like to argue that the choke job in 2022 wildcard against Seattle was what led to the decisions atkins made. He was heavily influenced by the loss and thought he can sacrifice some offense to get defense and he overdid it all because he didn’t want to get embarrassed with another choke job in the future. Ironic now since the team casually blows a lead every 3rd game

Atkins needs to go Schneider needs to go Kirk needs to go Turner needs to go (which he will) Springer needs to go Bichette has been great his entire career except this year. Don’t judge someone on 1 bad year Vladdy is a show boat but is hitting rbis and base hits. He would be a good bat behind a big named hitter. Sign Soto to a big contract and have a good bat!

You cannot sell the product and hope for the future when there is no respect for the management team by the fans. It is hard for the same management team to sell a second rebuild. Free agents are looking for winning teams not teams constantly rebuilding for the future.

Tf u mean when? He had basically an .800 OPS with the jays and a 117 OPS+ and hit .285 with 68 HR in 5 years, every year he was an above average hitter

Ross inherited a farm system and team that AA built… so the last 4 years wasn’t all due to the management and decisions from Ross. Where the team is currently IS the result of Ross’s management and decisions and that is more of a true reflection. He has to go

Sorry but they have had 8 drafts since you can't blame AA anymore for the state of the farm system that is all on Shapiro and Atkins it doesn't take 8 drafts to rebuild a farm system. Though they can't seem to draft and develop talent so that's totally on them too
