Hello again! I can certainly do a journal with me video and give some ideas on using this kind of journal. It would make me happy. Thank you - I loved making this journal - I forgot how much I love the feel of denim and it makes the journal extra soft and tactile. (that is one of the greatest things about the journals - just handling them and turning the pages - very therapeutic.) Thank you for the kind compliment - and for watching - happy creating.

Hi Sharon - I'm glad you like it - there are loads of very talented junk journal makers here on RU-vid - I'm not an expert - I love delygirl1961 and Jibid Neary - they are really good. Many people use pre-made downloadable kits (delygirl1961 makes her own and sells on ETSY). I have never used those kits though - I have always tea dyed or stained my own paper and printed my own images off the internet. I am happy to help you through it the best that I can if you have questions. (and the crafting community - like the stitching community is very friendly and helpful) Thanks for watching - Kelly

Some people are unhappy - others may just hit the wrong icon. I don't know - I just figure if it makes someone feel better to try and do damage to someone's confidence - it may as well be me - I try not to let it bother me. I do these things because they make me happy and I share in the hope that someone else may try to create something too - I know it makes me feel much better to sit and work on these things. Hi Lottie - I used part of a file folder as the base and encased it with denim by sewing around the outside edges. I had a lot of fun with this one - I love adding on unexpected things. I'm glad you enjoyed it - thanks for watching and happy journaling!

To fray the denim you just start on the cut edge and begin pulling the weft threads which leaves the warp threads loose. I usually will sit and pick at the threads with a pin to be able to pull them. Thanks for watching!
