That is one take away. The other is that the fish that did not make it was not doing well anyway. I have done dozens and dozens of these dips now on 50+ fish (maybe more) and only lost that one. I have so skin in the game for this product. Just trying to give an honest review, that’s why I didn’t hid the fish died. #honestreefer to the best of my ability
Yes. I highly recommend this. However if the fish look sickly at all don’t do a 45 min dip. Take them and put them in tank water and allow them to recover first.
I just purchased an adults achilles tang for 575 from a local shop and had him for a week and a half and I noticed he wasn't eating much at all and he was on the larger side and biggest tang I had in my 125 he was about 4-5 inches and like an IDIOT I didn't QT him because I only have a small 5 gallons plastic tank I got on amazon ,cause I could not wait to see him in my display tank well 2 weeks later on February the 25th had a CRAZY ICH outbreak I lost about 12 fish so far my most priced, clown tang, unicorn tang, powder brown tang, naso tang, achilles im very hurt by all of this and im hoping with buying this product I can have better chances weather I QT or NOT.... what's your true honest take on this product will this help people stop having to QT and purchase Side tanks?
Hi. Thank you for messaging me. So I used this for a while however I stopped using it in favor of actual quarantining the fish. That being said, it’s better than using nothing at all. I will say a 125 is not suitable for and Achilles tang. It’s not large enough for most tangs but Achilles are fast swimmers and need very high flow. More flow than a tank that size could likely provide. Reach out to me via email and we can talk more. Ask.mr.reefsafe@gmail.com
I don't think this is very effective against ich. To my understanding ich is inside the fish and thus protected by the skin. The formalin is good for bacterial and fungal infections and the methalyn blue offers temporary relief for the fish.
