Bro the thing about isagi is that theres always this one time where he shines then next fight he just goes back to being a sidecharacter 😭 like bro all we want is just a lil character development and we dont even get it (im currently reading chap 110+)
There's plenty of character development. The author just likes multiple characters shinning. In a manga about the development of a singular ego. That means every now and then one character will just look much worse than usual.
