Can we all appreciate for a moment the fact that those guys are formidable percussionists and theatrical performers who do physically exhausting work on stage while keeping a perfectly straight face...?
Tim Berghoff Physically exhausting? Really. You must never had labored for a hard boss on a construction crew. Say asphalt or roofer jobs for 14 hr days.
“I'm blue, da ba dee da ba daa Da ba dee da ba daa, da ba dee da ba daa Da ba dee da ba daa, da ba dee da ba daa Da ba dee da ba daa, da ba dee da ba daa”
I love the way they highlight the other musicians on stage in all their shows. I've seen a few different acts by blue man group in person and online, and they're always a great show. My personal favorite had the supporting musicians as neon colored stick figures in a pyramid behind the main stage. They made some really cool stop motion style effects with it.
@@62meta I'm sure they change their acts periodically as well, and that particular show was probably over 15 years ago. They may not do that particular act anymore
I remember hearing their name but never watched them, this is literally the first time I've ever seen them and I only came here bcuz family guy did a joke about them
Their paint is actually latex paint so it firms when it dries. Perhaps that keeps them from smiling since it would rip off any hair in the area and cause extreme pain😂
Just saw these guys…Boy, they were ****ing amazing! From the music, the comedy, and all the interactions with the audience. The show was so unique and hilarious; and at the end I found my jaw hurting from all the laughing that happened during the show. They are a VERY talented group of men and continue to blow my mind every time I watch one of their performances here on youtube. They even referenced some really good songs on those tubes, that just added to the wide variety of things I got to experience. If you ever receive the chance to watch these guys I HIGHLY recommend you do, trust me it'll be worth it!
The first time I ever heard of them, I was with a friend in New York visiting her family. They lived in Tarrytown & we went into Manhattan and saw them in an off Broadway show. It was in the summer of 96 or 97. So I was 16 or 17. And they did the Blue Man Group in tubes. PVC pipes were everywhere. No real drum sets. Amazing sounds through all these plastic tubes & PVC pipes. Then, at the end we had to pull toilet paper over our heads & it all went to the front of the stage. We were only like 12 rows back. However, that was my first time in New York & I have no idea what theater we were in??. It was small & dark..not lavish... But one of the most amazing shows I have ever seen!! I was into Raves at the time and the percussion from those tubes was just exhilarating!! I remember saying that they were going to be something huge one day. And at the end the Blue Man Group was greeting everyone as they left the theater. And I had one of the playbills in my hand and two of them kissed it. So I have an original play bill with blue paint and lit marks all over it. Pretty cool thing. I wish I had any idea what theater I was in.
@@jamessullivan1348 They do. It's part of their routine. Someone yells freebird, freebird plays, one of the blue men lights a match or a lighter and another one of them puts it out with an extinguisher.
I’ve seen them 5 times in Vegas. I could see them a million more times. Their music have an emphasis on percussion....add those magical guitar rifs and it puts me me in another world. 🤩
No joke, my dad does that at EVERY concert or street performance or guitar player we come across. He never explained it to me. He almost did it at the BMG show we went to.
Dude as a percussionist....... I gotta say, I peed my pants first time I heard them. I then proceeded to pee myself once more when I found out back in 6th grade that they were playing in Atlanta that Spring. Later, I cried uncontrollably when I couldn't find out any info on the concert. I will pee myself once more if they play in Georgia any time soon.
I had the pleasure of seeing them in 2007 in Baltimore and I was amazed by the pure talent and how entertaining they were and Traci Bonham on the violin WOW!!! Unbelievable talent there
I really had no idea these guys were still going strong. I remember them for my childhood. I think in a commercial or a movie. I had no idea they've been around since 1987. But they are some of the most talented unorthodox musicians in the world
@@bcb5696 when they where at Monte Carlo show there was 2 versions. The first version had exclusive scenes like: how the brain works, how happiness works, playing music with car robots. I guess the orlando show got jealous that the Vegas show was better so in 2015 they made the show the same as the Orlando show but took out live backstage and replaced the finale song to make Orlando the best. And eventually for all their shows they removed the balls on the finale and also replaced the finale song.
@@CatBot007 so it’s three guys that started it right but they now have others they hire to do shows in different cities? Are the original three still around?
I just saw them last night and in August 15 2021 they are UNBELIEVABLE!!!! It was so much fun, they put me on blast for being late 😂😂😂 it was AWESOME 👌 👏
I am too. I just wish there had been more of it in this video. :( I understand why they can't for copyright reasons, but I was digging the music as much as I was having fun with the theatrics and physical humour.
I was always told as a kid 'Stop that. Youre making a noise.' Then we had a Garden festival in Glasgow and an area of it was all instruments kids could have a go on. One was PVC pipes and foam paddles, me and this other wee kid had great fun for about 20 minutes. The Blue Man Group made a carreer of doing it.
+plastic banana +David B. 'Free Bird' is a song by the band Lynyrd Skynyrd. It's considered to be one of the best rock songs of all time. It's played in the background at 7:14 . And, also from urbandictionary, "Freebird is a term commonly shouted by concert patrons in an attempt to mock the band's ability to play their own music. This is usually done in conjunction with lighting a cigarette ligher and holding it over your head and/or creating the devil-horns gesture with your hand".
