This hike is entirely on logging roads on private timber land. The elevation change is about 2000 feet, and the distance round trip I am estimating at around 9 miles. There is little to no shade most of the way, so be prepared for that (enough water and sunscreen).
No permit or pass required to park or start a hike here at the end of Saxon Road, but there are some rules on the sign shortly uphill after the beginning of the logging road (0:58). Most of the rules are commonsense. Don't drive in, don't litter, don't light fires, don't come in when there is obvious logging activity happening.
Day hiking only; there is no camping allowed here (which imo they should allow on a small scale).
