Blue October’s music spoke to me during a period of my broken life when I couldn’t hear/see/connect to anything else but my own sorrow. Their music constantly played in my ears, the lyrics constantly played in my heart. Hate Me played on a loop. The soundtrack to my journey to getting back up was always, will always be Blue October. ❤

It's amazing how Justin's story is so many other people's story as well. He just resonates. Justin is a prime example of what brutal self-honesty and transparency can perpetuate. When you irrevocably and unconditionally look into the mirror of your soul (for better or for worse) you become a mirror unto others (for better or for worse).

For those of you who love Blue October like I do...I thought I'd share my "rolling Stone interview moment" I had with Justin, after a concert in Milwaukee. I waited for him to come out to his bus...I, and a friend, where the only ones waiting this late...I asked him if I could ask him just one question, and he said okay. I asked, "is there a song you sing, that you wish no one would ever ask you to sing again?" And he said, after a pause, "yes. Any Man In America." And he got on the bus. Best concert I've ever been to.

Almost feel unworthy at times for the gifts Justin and Blue October continue to share with this world. The depth to which Justin and Blue October have touched my core and allowed not just healing but growth of my heart and soul- is indescribable. After losing my best friend - the sister to my soul, my twin star, my ‘soulship’ - to demons we all suffer from in one way or another- I was lost to grief and forgot who I was. It was the music of Justin and Blue October that gave me back the key to reopen my heart and love myself and the gift of life......

My head was dark..and my heart...was much much bigger..why did this hit so close to home??

I remember like 25 years ago, my brother and me running into Justin after a show. We told him [you] are gonna be huge. Can't understand how Justin would ask why anyone would say that to him. "When a man finds that it is his destiny to suffer, he will have to accept his suffering as his task; his single unique task. He will have to acknowledge the fact that even suffering he is unique and alone in the universe. No one can relieve him of his suffering or suffer in his place. His unique opportunity lies in the way in which he bares his burden." V. Frankl I hope his book of verse will be published soon.

The strength of this man and his entire family is overwhelming. I feel honored to hear it said that Blue October is more than just the guys in the band. I took my brother to Justin's Open Book show in Corpus. Why my brother. I just felt like he needed to see again. He is a recovering addict that is counseling addicts. He is using his addiction to help others. He asked me, how did you find this band. I never would have heard of them had I not come. It was not drug related or anything like that but the song is so relatable beyond that. Although it hurt, that song did help me cope with losing my dad.
