Agreed!! Any man in America is fucking amazing...... So is Sway.. If you don’t have those, I highly recommend.. Justin’s heart is on full display in 99% of his songs... The band as a whole is just second to none..

If you "don't get" Blue October then you have never been heart broken. And if Justin Furstenfeld's lyrics and his pain can't be heard and FELT by you then you're either blind or led a very peachy life. I love Blue October and dude is one of the best song writers of all time in my opinion. Wish I had 1/10th of his talents!
@@richcouyou8182 +Rich Couyou #1 God loves you just like you are.He knows everything we go through in this shitty world and understands us totally. People may fail us, our kids may turn on us or even our parents, spouses may leave us or we may outlive them but God is always there for us and guides you in ways you don't even realize every day. Whatever you went through that caused the PTSD , you made it out from that for important reasons , and you may know what the reasons are or you may never figure it out. Sometimes our painful experiences can be the reason someone campaigns to change something about the world to try to prevent other people from going through the same things. Mothers who lost their children because a drunk driver caused a wreck that killed their children , they formed M.A.D.D. (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) and eventually ,drunk driving laws were strengthened and more fully enforced. Punishments greatly increased and now all drivers must have car insurance , a change greatly made due to so many people being maimed, paralyzed and injured badly by drunk drivers with no car insurance who back then faced little responsibility for their irresponsible and dangerous choices and actions and the millions of dollars in medical bills their victims had to deal with, on top of their awful injuries. One example of the good that can come from our painful experiences. Sharing our lessons we've learned can help so many others, especially those younger than ourselves. I hope you find a way to turn your pain into something valuable hopefully for many others. But also sometimes even if the lesson/s are ones we've been forced to learn just for ourselves, in the final result or the long run, our painful lessons can have a positive effect on hundreds of people, sparing them pain too. I know that some of the ways I've been hurt, that then caused me to never do those things to other people. If those things somehow made me a better woman in some way , and THEN I taught my kids not to hurt others in those same ways imagine how that causes a ripple of GOOD to spread out down through generations . Not holding on to our pain overly much becomes our soul work to do. Because of course we don't forget the horrible things we go through, but we must allow ourselves the time and space to really feel them, safely (meaning we don't try to process trauma we have been holding back on our own, totally,if we know we need some support through out it. Letting in friends or family members or a therapist, sharing with someone who can and says they will be with us if we reach out and say we need them, if we call. Someone that will be nearby us as we grieve, cry all we need to and feel the pain until we reach the point we can accept that it is what it is or was what it was. Until we feel strong enough to carry the pain , yet go on to live fully in spite of what or who hurt us. If we don't , then they or it has won , if we let it destroy this one life we have to live. It is possible to leave the pain behind you. You get the choice to let it and it's power over you just GO and making that choice may be the most powerful you will ever feel, you can decide to let it go. Then maybe one day you will spin that into something positive for yourself and maybe others too). Ask God to help you find release of the pain and peace of heart.
I’d never heard of this band before. I went with my wife to a concert of theirs in Austin Texas in dec of 23’. That was one of this best shows I’d ever seen live. This was one of my favorite songs they played that night.
Obsessed with this video..... I swear he is so passionate about his music you can hear it in his voice!? He is such an intense singer and person, god bless you Justin. Your music helps me through everything.
@@manaschakraborty824 I agree with both of you , he reminds me of all the truly memorable, unique artists I've adored over my 58 years. I predict Blue October and Justin will be like Aerosmith ... they will be around forever. Every song of theirs that I listen to sticks in my head for freaking weeks. ( It's the LIVE versions of their songs that just force you to pay attention to & LOVE THIS GUY !! The part where Justin pulls from his guts to say : " You're f$%^kin' with my MIIII-HIIINDDD" AND "PRRIIII-HIIIIDE" just slays me every single time I listen to it ! He is so talented and open, his willingness and bravery to bare painful, raw, uncensored truth in his music are ..well ..fear-LESS . Just floors you as you listen to the lyrics, every song.
This has to be one of the most underrated live albums I've ever come across. It came out in the peak of my worst depression 7 years ago in the middle of a toxic relationship and I initially fell in love with Hate Me and Into The Ocean to name a couple of songs Justin wrote while he was "sad", they really resonated with me at the time. The thing that I will never forget was, while discovering all of their music, realising how much Justin had changed since those songs were released and how much happier he was, and then I fell in love with songs like Sway and I hope You're Happy when it came out. Justin, if I'm ever so fortunate that you read this comment, I want you to know that seeing you evolve from Sad Justin to Happy Justin changed my life and I always come back to Blue October to remind myself of how far I have come myself. I love you guys forever and thank you Justin so much for being so vulnerable as to share your journey through life with us in such a beautiful, melodic, inspiring form of art. To anyone who is a Blue October fan because you're lost, sad, lonely, angry or all of the above, take it from someone who's been there and come out the other side stronger than ever, don't just listen to the sad songs, take a good look at Justin's journey through their music. You will be okay, time heals all wounds and you will find true happiness as long as you want it badly enough. Stay strong ❤
These guys are one of the few bands where their live stuff sounds as good as their studio music and even better on some songs. I was fortunate enough to see them in San Antonio at the Aztec theater and they were phenomenal
My son introduced me to Blue October and I can't stop listening wish I could see you in Live would be my first Concert before I'm 60 yr old Love the Videos
Are they underrated? Some bands aren’t all about fame & fortune, but the music. Some bands actually prefer smaller venues so the experience is completely intimate. I’ve seen a few bands that think like this, & highly respect more than most bands!
@@roseannenieman5233I agree with you! I myself learned about this talented group just a few years ago. I would love to go to such a concert of theirs!!! P. S. This song is my ringtone on my phone!
Да я офигел сразу, как только услышал эту музыку. И потом ещё несколько раз: разобрав перевод - послушал запись с живого концерта - ещё раз прочитав стихи.
LYCRIS: It's all about esteem It's all about dreams It's all about making the best out of everything You'll know when you're fine Cause you'll talk like a mime You'll fall on your face You get back up and you're doing fine "A considerate clown, a preachy preaching machine" Is one of the sweetest things you would say about me But I don't have the time for your distorted esteem Why are you toying with my mind? I don't wanna hear you say it I don't wanna hear you say it I don't wanna hear you say it Now you're messing with my pride You think you're smarter than me Well everyone knows you will never be smarter than me That's how it goes I gained forty pounds because of you Was there an "S" on my chest Well I confess, you were too much stress I'd have a heart attack at best So now I breathe it out, I breathe it out I spit it on the crowd cause they lift me up, they lift me up, they lift me up When I'm feeling down What am I spitting out? Spitting out, something we never talk about It's called my ...mind I don't wanna hear you say it I don't wanna hear you say it I don't wanna hear you say it Now you're messing with my pride Well, I'm sick of standing in your line So now you'll have to take it Take this to heart I will never let you fuck me over Stop talking down to me your war is old Your game is over So here's my coldest shoulder I don't wanna hear you say it I don't wanna hear you say it I don't wanna hear you say it Now you're messing with my pride Something we don't talk about Something we don't talk about
Truly one of the most important bands of the last 20 years. Personal, honest, talent. Hopefully this once demonized band, helps put a dent into the opioid issue we have in the U.S. follow this band. you'll get shit you probably never understand before.
OK , "you had me at" : 33 seconds into the video ... That little shoulder wiggle with the sideways eyes ...be still my barely beating ol' heart... ermagawd he's so cute ! lol.
Be careful! They are addicting! Research the history of Justin Furstenfeld and you will understand the music in a way nobody else does. Blue October is more than just music.
The best Music in the history of music! Sadly you have no clue what you've been missing all these years! Justin Furstenfeld and Blue October went through some dark days that he was so real and genuine through his music and came out shinning like a diamond just keeping it real! Also Never did he sell out (like all the rest eventually do)They pushed for perfection and won. A countless amount of people owe him for helping them heal their life.I really can't say enough about how mind blowing raw, dark, deep and meaningful all their music is. It's really the best example you could have for what music is supposed to be like and feel like!!!💙
Your music helped me through torturous nights having panic and anxiety attacks. Listening with headphones allowed me to hear all of your beautiful songs without having to think and worry nonstop. I wanted to cut myself so much tonight but didn't because I got lost in your music again. Once I start listening I don't want to stop. Watching you perform is mesmerizing. I just can't get enough so yeah Thank You.
KeyraM ADC I speak Spanish too as my first language. But I know really well the studio version of the song, so I really think they're live for real here.
The difference between just a singer and a true interpreter. It is precisely the passion that you transmit through your voice, your gestures, your movements that makes you unique and incomparable. Thank you for putting all your talent to work. It is an unique band, the talent personified in each member of the band, excellent musicians. Thank You guys 🙏🌠🤗
Intense and straight from the heart!!! Adios baby!!!! "I'm sick of standing in your line So now you'll have to take it Take this to heart I will never let you fuck me over Stop talking down to me your war is old Your game is over So here's my coldest shoulder."
Only recently found out about these chaps and man they make great music. Great emotions coming out, which is what music is meant to do...... great stuff
I could listen to these songs all day everyday. But watching the emotions Justin puts into his performance is amazing. I've seen them live once and it was the most amazing experience. Their music saved me and I hope anyone else that's battling addiction can get through it as well. You deserve life and happiness
Every now and then I have to come back to Blue October. Their sound is both familiar and unique. They're like that Spanish chord progression of E7 to Am, but with some pop sound and distorted guitars. I don't know, hard to describe. But they often have some vaguely pop-melodies, but with some serious acid. One thing they have above all else is EMOTION. Love em.
Ive been watchin your band since 2009. We all have our ups and downs, your music lifts me up. I've been going through some things, most days I want to give up, this morning I have the will to keep going. Your music lifted me today.
Hello there Blue October. I'm Matt. I heard that song in internet radio in 2009. I didn't remember title of that song. Now I'm here by accident - so I'm accidentally cryin'. \m/
I doubt the band or Justin will ever see this and I kind of hope nobody does, but this music has helped keep the razor out of my wrists. Depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, have been a daily reality for so many years and artists like this need to know that they are helping people deal with their fucking demons.
I'd give my life savings to go back in time and be in the front row at this show. I've watched the vids from this gig 1,000 times and I can't imagine anything better.
I consider this musical therapy, after everything that's happened I've gone numb to most things but this music always breaks through. It's nice to feel something, thank you for this long journey.
Honestly one of my dreams is seeing these guys live. just listening to a live video gets me all types of pumped up, the emotion is always great in their songs but you feel it more live
This performance is just fuckin AMAZING!! Not necessarily my favorite song, but by FAR my NUMBER 1 favorite live performance!! Intense man.. Off the fuckin chart w/ intensity... Hats off to ALL of you!!
So cool to see you with your shit together; you are an inspiration. I've loved you guys throughout the journey. Your music has carried me through while sick and well.
So I’m from Houston and knew of Blue October but basically wrote them off based on Into the Ocean and Hate Me. Well all these years later I discover this song and Light You Up. Looked up even more from their catalog..and now I have seen the light. This band should be as big as Muse or Coldplay on the world stage. So talented..so deep..versatile. A band of this quality and with good songs should be playing Arenas all the time.
That violin player wears many hats I had no idea how much he contributes to the band. Hats off to you bro. Hats off to the whole production team as well man this was excellently put together and perfectly executed by the band and the crew.
Thank you Blue October. Justin , your lyrics on a lot of your songs have helped me in my recovery process. I listen to a lot of your songs and Fear was the first song I ever listen to .your live shows are awesome!!!
...SONG OF THE DAY!!! 🤘🏿ULTRAMEGAROLOTA🤘🏿 07/06/2021
I've been obsessed with this song/live version lately. It's older but fits with Houston Heights. It feels empowering, for anyone who wants to accomplish something, facing the doubters this song sounds like a declaration of independence. My favorite part is of course "Well, I'm sick of standing in your line So now you'll have to take it Take this to heart I will never let you fuck me over Stop talking down to me your war is old Your game is over So here's my coldest shoulder"
