I was at this show. A magical evening and it’s great to hear it again (though it’s not a soundboard). I was amazed at the amount of young people in the audience (and, whisper it, girls! - Brilliant!) There was a constant call for Astronomy from a few of us down at the front, even though the received wisdom is that ‘they don’t play it anymore’. Eric sort of shrugged at the end in a sort of, “You demanded it, here it is” way... And there is was. Wonderful.
What a triumphant mini European tour for the Legends & still America's greatest hard rock band. 50 years since their first gigs as the Soft White Unberbelly in 1967 & still blazing away ... fans leaving the gig I was at said they were musically as good as ever. Incredible. Thanks for posting the full concert.
Now its 46 years on the road as BOC. For Buck, 1967..Eric 1969....Thats a long time on the road. They sound great. This chapter of the band is just as good as any era. Yes some have lost their full range vocally but you adjust. Rock and Roll at its finest. How many youngsters picked up a guitar because Buck inspired them? I dare say hundreds if not thousands...Election into the Hall of Fame is long overdue.
Thank you, Stevie! This gig (supposedly BOC's last ever in UK) will live long in the memory. For those of us who were there, this was a pure, unadulterated treat! All the old magic was there ... I didn't want it to end!
