The “Blue Panda” the sailing boat of WWF, sailed in Greek waters this year, aiming to highlight the need to protect our seas and help us discover the “sea we want”. During the visit to our country, the “Blue Panda” made two stops at Sounio and the Marine Protected Area (MPA) of Gyaros, two marine areas of particular ecological interest.
The field team of WWF Greece, together with the Hellenic Center for Marine Research (HCMR), conducted research activities focusing on the protection of vulnerable marine habitats and species from increasing threats such as unsustainable fishing and tourism.
