Time out is the perfect cool jazz album to me. It’s melodically and rhythmically superior to it’s peers.

Melodic tunes and solos that actually go somewhere. I love it then and now.

As a Turk, thank you for this beautiful piece of work

In memory of my late father who loved this album, this particular song is my ringtone for when anyone in my immediate family calls me.

Brubeck is brilliant❤
@ybor20
a beautiful piece, but somehow it always made me think of Mozart's 'Rondo Alla Turca'

I knew someone who hated jazz because there were no words, no lyrics. I found out later she was tone deaf. She didn't care for Bach or Beethoven either. She needed a story I'm guessing. I don't always need one. When I do, I go to Steely Dan who combines cool jazz with quirky stories. He (Fagen) even mentions how much he likes Brubeck in The New Frontier.

DBQ leaves me to believe perfection has been achieved many times over, as I listen over and over, these guys just rarely missed a Tune, I am attuned to say!

I love the part where Paul Desmond breaks out with just the bass and drums behind him… That is the definition of cool jazz!
