I taught my little sister the lyrics to this song when she was in elementary school. She's 17 now and can still rap the whole song if I say one line. Blue Scholars forever.
I was so happy I found this track, I have been listening to the beat this is sampled to( Intro-The XX) for hours on end. Now that Blue Scholars have rapped on it, just made it that much better. Much love.
[Verse 1] 00:24 Hype performin', night to mornin' There's no time but it's nice to warn 'em Postmortem we don't mourn 'em We go forth but no we don't force it New leak from the office faucet And all last week the response is awesome Goes off when a pro goes on And it's been that way since back before college Just Geo and no longer logic Still marchin', still evolvin' Still revolvin' around Don't stop till we sovereign Whatever you call it Locked in thought like a Filipino watchin' Boxin', every so often Peace to the fallen Here's to the hope that the beats that I'm rockin' Is reachin' your coffin [Hook] Ooohh... Yup, that's my daily routine Glide through the motions Ridin', coastin' Ooohh... Then I burn one slow Feedback need that Let it all go [Verse 2] 01:22 Sunsets in the south end Right next to the mountains And a light hits sound Bright for a minute then it's time for the clouds Then it leaks somehow Time of the day when the freaks come out 'Till it comes back east Say peace cause we need some now Please don't bow Ain't an encore after Show you how if you ask 'em how to hold down, hold towns Like a nat disaster Slow down was the last example Kill 'em, chillin' in my b-boy stanza And use your bastards for target practice Y'all trend set watch a brother transcend this madness Catchin' damn this trap [Hook] [Outro] Now, clap once if you see me Clap twice if you hear me Three times if you feel me Whether your hands are artillery Now, clap once if you see me Clap twice if you hear me Three times if you feel me Whether your hands are artillery, now
Macklemore got big and put his city on the map that's just how I see it. A few months ago I started to look into Seattle rappers found Sol, Sam Lachow, and Raz Simone, and I have Macklemore to thank for that cause he got me interested in listening to what other Seattle rappers can bring to the game. Just remember music is subjective and we all have our preferences some people will not agree with you and some will. I just love real good music like most of you out there.
That's a dope ass video of the Town. The part starting at 2:05 where he speeds up the video of driving down International was clean, as were the cuts of downtown. Good shit
