Windows 10 Blue Screens can be a pain, they rarely tell you exactly what is wrong, and there can be more than one solution to fix it.
Recently I've been having issues with my PC which has culminating in what seems to be a fatal blue screen. After rebooting, Windows simply will not start and displays an error code of 0cx000021a then promptly shuts down.
Well after much searching, I found that this particular error is quite common, caused usually by one of 2 files (winlogon.EXE or CSRSS.EXE) becoming corrupt or deleted.
I found several ways in which I could repair this so let's see how I get on.
The different ways are;
:: Try Startup Repair
:: Try a System Restore
:: Try to Uninstall recently installed drivers or Roll back to a previous version of Windows
:: Try Repairing Any Disk Errors with CHK DSK
:: Try System File Checker (sfc)
:: Try Check the Windows Image Files (DISM tool)
:: Try the Reset your PC option to reinstall Windows keeping your files intact
:: Last Resort is a Clean Install of Windows after formatting the boot drive.
Before this video, I had already tried System Restore, Rolling Back Windows to a previous version, and Resetting Windows using the Reset Your PC option.

If I can go into the command prompt and see that I still have my files on the C drive can I take the hard drive out of the tower and use a hard drive dock on a different computer to clone the drive? I don't think any kind of encryption was set up on the drive.

Back in the Windows XP and Windows 7 days the only time you could get a BSOD is if something is actually wrong with your drivers or hardware like a RAM with bad cells or you try booting your PC after force shutdown during a driver update. Windows 10 v1903 just gives you a BSOD whenever it wants even if you have latest drivers and there is absolutely nothing wrong with the hardware, it just has a mind of its own. I'm glad v1909 fixed those horrid bugs. V1903 gave me the worst computing experience.

Thanks for the video Kev, At least now people know the different options they have if this happens to them. Unfortunately you had the worse thing happen :( This is why I dont use the boot SSD for allot at all. Most things are on my HDD. Watching this though makes me want to do a full backup to my external drive so I think a new backup is in order for me soon haha, thanks for that :P

You don't need a Product Key with Windows 10. The motherboard carries a Digital Licence so further installations of the same version (Home or Pro) will automatically be licenced.

You might need to go to your motherboard settings and switch off the full screen logo thing. i had the same issue with my MSI 970A SLI Krait Edition motherboard

Try to enter Automatic Repair Mode on Windows 10 by interrupting start up 3 times then you will see Preparing Automatic Repair and then Automatic Repair choose advanced options, then troubleshoot, then Advanced option, then Uninstall updates, then uninstall the latest quality update, wait until finished your PC will restart normal after that.

By far the best way to avoid this problem is to regularly make a backup of your 'C' drive. If you then encounter an issue like this it's as simple as swapping one drive for another to get back up and running. The main problem with reinstalling Windows is you then need to reinstall all of your device drivers, programs, setup email, and maybe customise Windows to your personal tastes.

first, randomly while i was playing minecraft and exploded some tnt to troll someone it bsoded with stop code 0xc0000022, then when it restarted it kept showing this 0xc000021a bsod, then now while watching it it doesnt even bsod anymore, and shows up a recovery screen that says the boot drive is missing error code 0xc0000022

Get to Microsoft site and download windows disc image and get a pen drive install in it. There's pretty much a couple of videos on creating a bootable drive and u could use them am having the same situation mate hope this helps once u insert that created bootable drive u can Access the advanced repair hopefully good day mate.

I guess it's a windows feature; they want you to periodically wipe out the system to feel fresh again and they want you to learn to regularly perform backups of your data, settings and installations. Only bringing them back into your new system is a bit cumbersome. Thank you for educating me.

IF U GOT THIS ERROR AFTER YOU UPDATED WITH WINDOWS UPDATE, in the troubleshooting section select the command prompt and then put " dism /image:C:\ /cleanup-image /revertpendingactions " (without the " ) and it will revert the updates and ur computer will work again.....

Not sure if anyone else said this. But if you have essential files on your Windows partition that you don't want to lose, there is a number of ways to save them before you format your drive. For example: If you have another operatingsystem available you could plug your hard drive in that system and copy the files from that interface. You can also boot windows from a USB drive in your current situation and then move your desktop files to another hdd within your system that way. Also. Try to use a system restore point, if you have any of those available. Google is your friend

that's why i uninstall 1903 update and back to 2018 microsoft version 1803 ... when i updated my windows to newest version i have this all f***king hell issues and get this damn headaches . So i guess u should delay updating ur windows and stick to ur previous windows rather, if u don't want to get to this headaches. Just stick to it pals.

Unless you have stored files on a physically separate drive you will most likely lose files clean installing Windows. The only exception to this is a separate partition on the Windows drive that is not removed during the install. All files stored in the usual places like 'Documents', 'Pictures', 'Music' etc will be gone. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A BACKUP OF IMPORTANT FILES!

I do everything I can to avoid theme, then once in a blue moon I say "f*ck it" and let the damn thing sit there all willy nilly, taking forever to update... ^and then after it says it needs to restart, it does so once or twice and at the very end, all of a sudden, BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH!!!!!!! :( :( :( :( :( ^ Now it won't start at all, and first I get the code 0xc000021a, "you're device ran into a problem, we'll collect some data and restart it for you", then recycles again, and it's twin blue bro hoks a loogi code at me "0xc0000225", give me 4 options like it's doing me a favor: 1. "Press enter to try/be disappointed again" 2. "F1 to enter Recovery/I mean nothing Mode" just flashes and returns same screen) 3. "F8 for startup settings" (which if I already touched "F1", does nothing, just flashes, but if I hit F8 first, it brings me to a page with choices, all of which do NOTHING! ^I select #4SAFE MODE, but all it does is start the whole problem over from the begining again. ALL 9 do the exact same thing, including "with networking and with Command Prompt" = ZERO DIFFERENCE 4. "PRESS ESC for UEFI Firmeware settings", which leads to "TOSHIBA SETUP UTILITY" ^which does not seem to have any options that would help .....WHY IS WINDOWS GRIMREAPER THE COLOR OF VIAGRA!?!?!, THERE'S NOTHING SEXY ABOUT THIS! HELLLLLLLLP!!!!!!! PLEeeeeASE!!! :(

@@xoren8361 yea, the techy i.t. guy at the cafe I frequent helped out, had a copy of windows 10 on a flash drive and had to reinstall/boot from usb, and then it was all good....but still🙄

@@xoren8361 he said it had to be a flash drive specifically in order to do that, so yeah that's what I did, I went and got one and he just copied it over onto it, said if it ever happens again, that at least I'll have that 🤷

@@sleeazeeeon356 Yes. I fix it. Seem's that my Mobo were sending low voltage to the memory's and I just did a little overclock in the ddr voltage. And Voilá! Everything is working perfectly!

Actualy... i think i dint repair it... now i think the problem is my rtx 2070 super... the bsod is the driver or hardware... ther are many people reporting this ...
