The annual breeding of Blue-tailed Bee Eater birds (Merops philippinus) commences in Burhachapori Wildlife Sanctuary, Kaziranga Tiger Reserve, Assam. More than 3000 Bee Eaters converge on a 1.5 sq. km. area in the Koroitoli grasslands to breed. They dig 2 to 3 meter long underground tunnels where they make nests and lay their eggs. Eco-tourists are welcome to experience this wonder of Mother Nature.
