At 1:44, I reached the same conclusion. "The girls pulled through like they always do." In other words, reinforcing bad habits, and they'll push new limits, because they got away with it the last time. A grizzled old mariner needs to have a sit down with them and set them straight. These girls are trifling with the ocean; they're going to find themselves on a one-way trip to Davy Jones' Locker at the rate they're going. They may have good maneuvering skills, etc. but they don't have good judgement or decision-making skills.
@@RonDevito perhaps she will now realize that it was just a degree or two between getting away with it, or flipping and ending up swimming and your boat on the breakwater ... luck will get you a long ways in life, but respect will live a long life.
@@Treblaholland they got a bilge pump, even if it is full of foam you still don't want the extra weight of the water in the boat, especially in those conditions
You need to interview these girls! They are a couple of fearless badasses !!! The girl driving the boat amazes me with her fearless spirit of adventure!
and maybe put the top down on windy days esp on smaller lighter craft reminds me of a will rogers saying good judgement comes from experience and a lot of that comes from bad judgement hopefully they learn faster than they can get hurt i had dirt bikes and street bikes ,boats , skied water and snow and found in all of them and others that when u push things to their limits that limit smacks back pretty hard sometimes
Exactly. I was trying to explain this in another video, along with their lack of throttle control when jumping and almost busting their teeth out on the console. Anyone can get in a boat and just send it every time, it's not hard. I think they get way too much credit than they're worth.
I'm 60. Luckily alive on all the dumb shit I did on motorcycle's. They are legendary. Was in 16 ft. Mako, jumping waves, lake Michigan. Hit so hard? Friend broke transom. 115 Mercury. He was a nut. RIP Craig. 🙏
My folks lived on the Intercoastal in Cape Coral for many yrs. Their next door neighbor was a guy about same age as I. My buddy & I were going down for Spring Break from College many yrs ago & my dad had been telling me about this guys toys, drag car, race ready offshore etc. Mind you, although growing up on boats in Michigan my whole life, my only experience on a go fast boat was my folks 37' Formula with inboard 454's built, Dad named it "The Wicked One". Anyway, that sob was fast, but nothing compared to the neighbors boat. Dude was awesome, he & his buddy took us out & cruised @ 110 across the Gulf. He knew everyone everywhere we stopped, it was a blast! Until he did as you stated, we were jumping the wakes of the freighters entering the Intercoastal & cracked his boat on both sides right at the transom. He laughed it off & said "It's only money". lol
The BTL young ladies need to talk to their local Coast Guard recruiter! Imagine if they get married and their spouse tells them it's too windy and rough to go boating... Also, I would go fishing as the wave action gives your bait some great action and that boat @ 7:01 is the one I want to be on the next time it goes out with that crew!
Their boat handling skills are awesome but they are also quite lucky. Love watching the videos but I hope we don’t end up seeing a search in progress for one of them someday.
@@shortsalegroupinc I’m in Idaho now, but grew up in NorCal on the coast. I’ll probably never make it to Florida, but I love this channel. The beauty of the internet. I’ve been helping a drummer in the Philippines with getting a new drum kit. I’ve always helped musicians around me, but I never thought I would be helping someone on the other side of the Pacific.
We run tour boats in Prince William sound Alaska, a few smaller ones, 24 ft Boston whalers for closer in tours and fishing and 3 bigger boats for longer trips out to see the glaciers. If one of these women applied with us and I had seen these videos I would never hire them. Their recklessness is astonishing, neither of them would ever get a license. What we see here is luck, it's not skill, at least not what I see in terms of being professional. It's fun to watch but can so easily turn deadly.
Y’all keep praising them. That day is coming. After the fame, comes the shame. Been going through that inlet since the 80’s. I came close to rolling my old aqua sport on a miss timed waved. Hate to see something happen
@@agentcrm no one’s hating on them having fun. It don’t take much for that console to knock you out. Inlets claimed plenty of victims. Wouldn’t take much for that console to knock her out. Then it’s heh. Your daughter drowned while having fun. It’s just the more attention she gets. The dumber choices she’s making. The girl up front will get the worst of it. Point is. Fine line between having fun,and being stupid.
It’s all fun until the worst happens and WAVY gets sued for promoting it along with the advertising they are doing. Play stupid games and win stupid prizes, only a matter of time until someone gets hurt.
Those girls are absolutely Fearless. I really enjoy all the videos of them. It is also a testimony on how durable, and see where the Boston Whalers are. They are hard to beat
Oh yes! The Man, The Myth, the legend of BLUE TOP! I think we need to show mad respect not just for the huge balls on this legend, but mad respect for the hull design in general badassness of Boston Whaler. Even if he gets swamped I'll bet you the boat still floating! HUGE BALLS!
Slams like a sheet of plywood and will soak you in any amount of wind but I've never stuffed the bow or taken a wave over the bow. It does a good job of making me too miserable to want to stay out there.
I had a 21’ bay boat with a 150 I/o when I was 14. Running that baby in the bayou ripped the top clean off when a branch caught it. 30 years later my parents are still asking why we don’t run with Biminis. Glad there were no cameras around
I don't mean this as disrespectful but "those girls have balls". That was the best part of this video. I am impressed. Thanks for these videos. I was raised in northern California, on the coast. Right I the middle of those beautiful Redwood trees. I miss it terribly. Your videos remind me of home. Thank you for that. Jerry
I’m just gonna say it. I’ve always thought BTL was reckless. Only a matter of time. But because they’re cute girls, everyone roots them on. Melbourne, FL
I think they accomplished the ultimate goal not many have 12 o'clocked a boat and not sunk specially on camera. Something tells me they will be satisfied and take a small break but unfortunately others will feel like they have to be like those girls and possibly get hurt but most likely sink boat
@@mattz1230 I think they learned they were not as enthusiastic on the way back in. The ones trying to be like them or copycats or someone trying to one up them are the ones you should be worried about
Looks like that wave taught them a lesson, you have to have some respect for the water. They almost lost it. I'm glad they made it through and no one got hurt. Those girls are fearless. I would have been s******* in my pants 🩳👖🩳
I have a '93 Dauntless 15. It's just AMAZING doing these types wake jumping things. I don't even think about pulling the stunts these girls did in their 13 ft but, I felt like I had it all the way out of the water and turning 20 degrees while in the air...awesome boats. Bilge pump? Naaah, water runs out the scuppers
My old fishing grounds. Incredible bait in that inlet and quick to load up the livewell too. Mahi & Wahoo 1 mile out + Blue Marlin 5 miles out = Paradise! Only a few times did I ever pass on the inlet due to weather and use the next inlet south (Lighthouse Point).
Amazing sisters right there! They admit proudly they love the rush and will always send it. Learned a lot about these girls from their channel. Hope to see them in their new boat soon, which they been planning for and working to be able to buy it for a while now. Yep, there buying their boat, it's not little rich girls with daddy's money as I assumed the first time I saw them.
That was a major fail, BTL. More than scary that was near disaster, and they knew it. But that is part of the learning process, as Jordan Peterson says in his 12 Rules for Life (using skateboarding as an example): pushing it to the limit and beyond, so you learn what the limits are and what you can do (and can't do). One lesson learned apparently was: we need a bigger boat if we're going to tackle bigger waves. Hopefully they also learned a few more things about waves, wind, boating, and potential dangers.
I had one of those 13' Boston Whalers in the early 90's when I was 19-20 years old. I was beat to death with it fishing on Lake Martin and Lake Jordan in Alabama. I can't imagine running through an inlet like this in it. If you've never been in one of these tiny boats, you have no idea what it feels like to cross a 2' wave. It's like hitting a 12" tall speed bump in a pick up truck at 30 mph. These girls are playing with fire at the expense of trying to be some social media stars. I don't care how much experience they have, the weather and water are never the same as yesterday. I hope they cool it sooner than later.
My dad is a fisherman, and the 2 best times to fish are when they're biting and when you have the time to get out on the water. Either way being able to cast the line whether you're on the shore or in a boat is all that matters to a real fisherman.
They (or someone else) are going to get injured or worse if they keep this up. Yes, it's funny how hard they send it and Whalers are great boats, but you can only push your luck so far with the ocean before you get slapped - hard. Taking a boat into breakers like that is just straight stupidity.
Boston Whalers are tough friggin boats and can usually handle more pounding than the knucklehead on the throttle. Glad she didn’t succeed in flipping it. The choice of moving up in size Whaler is a wise idea.
You must be new to the channel. The drivers of the Blue Top Legend Whaler show better seamanship than half the numbnut guys in $300,000 center console. They caught a bad crest and almost ended on their beam-ends but they didn’t- and they handled it.
@@towedarray7217 I agree. If I had to choose a driver to take me out to the deep, I would choose this young lady over most others.. P.S. I have spent a lifetime racing boats like this and in harder seas :) She is learning, and doing darned well at it.
They are real daredevils. Playing with the waves, currents, winds like this. They have the good protection of Poseidon for sure. And they must have some ancestry with godess Thetys. Be carefull and good thing you always wore your safety vest.
I hope you have the C.G. on speed dial. The BTL is a capsize just waiting to happen. They are way too inexperienced to be running the boat like they do. So far they have been lucky but luck will only get you so far. One day the luck will run out....
Those girls are hilarious! Have they dumped a boat or just this close call? She’s a hell of a captain I’ll tell you that. She legit even flipped that boat around!
Watching BTL, it’s has been hard to tell if she has skills or full send it luck. I going to give it to her, we’ll done! Knowing well to come about, good trim control, good weather eyes, not panicking. 👍🏻
Them is my kind of women driving a boat full send every where they go and ain’t scared of a little choppy water . I love it I have no fear of rough water it it’s full send everyday all day
It’s not gonna be funny when that boat sinks or they get hurt. No education is given to these kids but plenty of sympathy will be if something happens. Kind of backwards
Agree Mike, this is the first time I've seen something from them that really worried me. That was way past full send and if it were anyone else but the girls the commenters would be saying how dumb it was and how lucky they were not to end up hurt; youth does not make one indestructible as many have found out the hard way. This is the point I'd be sitting them down for a serious talk if I were dad. Hopefully, a bit more sense will be shown with the new 16.
@@marvindebot3264 they had life jackets on the most that would have happened would be a bumped head maybe and a sunken boat, but one must consider the way they were quickly able to handle the situation after boat took on all that water they kept it from sinking, but also heard somewhere they build those boats not to sink
