I read this in the book too, Thes guys have some serious balls, LoL It's hard to wrap your head around. My Dad was head of production support for the Tomcat at Grumman Aerospace. He was so proud to be a part of the F-14 program. A NAVY man and a true patriot.
I read about this in Dave Baranek's "Bio" book "Tomcat Rio". It was stated that "Pager" only had 900 pounds of JP5 left when this event occurred. These guys have some serious skills!

I just finished your time with VF-2, in which you talked about one of your pilots, callsign Hoser. Is he the same Hoser who was in VX-4 or VX-9? The guy who was quoted "Credibility down, kill ratio up"?
