I have a full dinner set of blue willow by Churchill for 12 setting and me too got a mix of the royal Wessex cups by mistake but I love them more :) And this year I inherited my husband grandma’s blue willow and it’s the hand painted version it’s very deep blue.
I found 8 Spode blue and white dinner plates at a thrift store taped together. Paid only 2 dollars for the 8. I love the color and the design. I will look for Blue Willow as well. Thanks for this video. Very informative!
my mom has a set of blue willow dishes that my late father got her at an yard sale. like the 1st one you showed so they are the older blue willow and moms has the white trim around it so yes moms is the original set they may not be worth nothing in money value but they are with any to her cause they were from my dad and that means a lot to her cause dad got them for her and he has been gone for 3 years and she still has the set of course and they are her treasures for sure thanks for the video
This is so helpful! I didn't buy some great pieces because I previously got some bad information. Thanks for giving me permission to like "imperfect" pieces!
Churchill also owns Queen's China .. just bought service for 10.. with 10 additional plates.. But the cereal bowl has a simple border and the soup plate has a scalloped edge (it's a nice touch) I see lots of Johnson Brothers BW in antique shops.. But I wanted something we could use without having to worry about replacement issues. Great presentation, by the way!
I bought a set of dishes at an auction for little money. The cups in this set look like blue willow-homer Laughlin. No markings on the bottoms. I posted a video on my RU-vid page hoping someone can help me identify. I know the auction set isn’t Churchill England. I previously purchased 2 salad plates in this style patten with stamped marking Churchill England on the bottom.
I have just inherited my mom's entire collection of Blue Willow I know some of the pieces were expensive but I'm interested in reselling some of the items do you have any tips where I should and how I should list the items any information would be appreciated thank you I enjoyed your video
I have a complete set of blue willow by Booth purchased in England in 1952 it was shipped to the U.S. in wooden barrels . The China is beautiful, ruffled edges gold trimmed with an gold trim between the inner pattern and the design on the outer pattern. I have never seen another like it.do you know about this pattern?
I thought I had seen a color version of The Munsters and their "Blue and White" was actually "Black and White". I remember because I laughed thinking "of coarse it would be Black and White for them"!! I just looked it up and it's called "Midnight Black Willow" I have the complete Munsters series so I will try to see if I was right about it being Black and White. So...Please tell me...I have a whole set of Blue Willow but they are all marked (kind of engraved) "Made in England" (that is all it says on them) can you tell me more about my set??
The musters used different sets throughout. I have never seen the English Ironstone version in Black. That was probably one of the other sets they used. Unfortunately, many times they ended up breaking large amounts of them as part of the show. As far as your set, I would have to see the front of it since many different companies had "Made in England" engraved on them.
Older Blue Willow it sounds like. I have seen those in antique shops many times. I do not know exactly how old but I believe if they just say Japan they are pretty old.
