Unfortunately it’s easier said than done. Stepney has had a very good running life and the engine itself is worn down completely, it’s previous boiler certificate was only for five years rather than the traditional ten and even then it was rarely seen hauling its own trains. It’s often believed that it would be cheaper to build a new Stepney than ask anymore of the original engine but ofc it’s a debated topic.
