THIS is what it's all about!! Meeting those who inspire us, sharing the stoke, and absolutely crushing it on the mountain!! I'm so jealous you got to meet Abe and y'all were absolutely killing it together on those cliffs 😤🤙🏻
BRO THIS VIDEO JUST FIRED ME UP SO MUCH. Idk it felt like a meeting of two legends and like an episode of rocket power or something. Keep up the fire videos!!
FYI the run you labeled IDK was dry creek. Super glad you made it back to mammoth! The video was awesome! I was over on 23 and the backside that day so nice to see what the other side of the mountain was like :)
Everything about this was BAD ASS! So happy for you! You earned this experience and absolutely made the best of it with a ridiculous video. Loved every second!
This was your sickest filming of mammoth yet Lucas. Fun to see you ski with other rippers! Abe seems legit. This has me so stoked… I’m heading out to mammoth for a week mid January
One of your better episodes. It's interesting to see how much is added when you have a 3rd party who can match your skiing and camera skills. It really is a 1+1=3 equation. I love watching your 1st person POV video but sometimes I'm thinking "I wonder what that guy looks like from the chair lift"? As in, is he just an athletic dude hacking his way down the mountain or is he the real deal? I'm sure it was a great day skiing but you were obviously just as stoked to be sharing it with another person who understands all the crap you have to endure to get 8 minutes of excellent content. Well done.
Yeahhhh homie I rode Monday-Wednesday and I can say it was one of the best couple days I've ever had at Mammoth. Glad you came back to slash Mammoth and experience the mountain. Safe travels and your content is legit! I'm heading to ride Snowbird in 2 weeks, gonna be sick! What time do you suggest to head up the mountain/Cottonwoods to avoid the shit show?
This was the most incredible experience ever. And honestly, I was so nervous throughout the entire day to film. I’m still in disbelief. Check out Abe on socials at @abekislevtiz!!
That was awesome Lucas. Your taking your dreams to the next level. Just got the all clear to ski after 6 months of physical therapy. So stoked to be back in action. Your videos got me through man.. Thank you . The stoke is real..... Happy New Year! See you on the mountain. Yeeeew!!
This video made me so happy for you! It's awesome to get to see the non-pov shots of you shredding mixed in too. Takes it to the next level! Abe is goated 🐐
It's Dry Creek (not upper, not lower). Upper Dry Creek is the crease that begins that canyon, starting below Top of the World. To get to it you take Upper Gondola, start on the skier's right of Climax, and the traverse under the rocks as soon as you can. It ends at the cat track where Lucas started his run. Lower Dry creek is the continuation of the gully below the bottom of Chair 5.
Such an awesome video dude! Conditions looked so prime and skiing with and idol like that must have been epic. Hopefully 2023 brings more epic days like these 🎉
love how you went from like your worst day ever skiing to literally your best and dream ski day haha! what a crazy day! I enjoyed that a lot keep it up! Happy New Year lucas!!
Lucas, you and you're new pal Abe are insane. Been skiing Mammoth for 40 years and you are showing me areas of the mountain I'm just not willing to do at my age. I've now entered self-protect mode. But you guys flying through those trees, Man...Thanks for really showing me my favorite hill!! Happy New Year. Your video's are the best. Here's a favorite, the GoPro 3 promo- old but insane! Nutso production values, locations and talent. I still watch it from time to time. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-A3PDXmYoF5U.html
Just started following you. My wife and I skied out of Mammoth for 26 years and now live in Idaho. You first runs on Sunshine Glades between 22 and 25 bring back memories of some of the best powder runs of my life. This is an epic season. Your videos remind me of 2016-2017. So glad you are enjoying the mountain.
Man I just started doing videos. You put so much work in I would say not just ski videos but cinematic videos. I really appreciate the effort and heart you put into your work. Keep it up!! How long were the lines?
That's the bounce back video you were looking for. Holy shit man, that looked insane. Plus you solved the issue of not being able to make a video to your liking with another person. All you needed was someone who shreds and works for go pro. Simple. What a day after what will forever be known in stoke lore as " the disaster in Deer Valley ". That dragons tail at 330 golden hour light was gorgeous. Nice work 👏. Abe fucking rips
Such a good vid Lucas! Glad you got to hook up with your bud. Ripping it here in PC with 2 buddies since grade school and we're damn here 60. No bluebird day here but we got a shit ton of snow. Happy New Years Day!
Hell yeah man! Just got back from three days of skiing Snowbird and found some great snow myself. Happy New Year man! Great Scott’s to Mach Schnell was fantastic, thanks for the beta.
Nice video. Could you share which oakley model Abe has in his helmet and goggles? Im quessing Mod 1 and fall line, but cant tell which one of the Mod 1 it is, and is that jade iridium lense?
God damn Lucas what a banger video. The snow, skiing, and cinematography were incredible. What an insane day on the mountain… 👏🏼. The clip at the end of Abe going off the cliff could be in a movie. Congrats
I remember those days at Mammoth when you are skiing fresh powder with a group of friends who are the same ability as you. Glad you got to meet the guy you admire. Your videos are fun to watch.
So great! Want to slide along with you as you take us other places, riding out the dream! Well done!!! So happy to see you crushed the 30K barrier!!! I want to see and predict 40K by the end of the season!!! I'll be there!
So sick that you got to ride with Abe. I remember watching all of his videos with him and his crew back in like 2010 and he was a big inspiration for me in regards to filming live action sports.
Oh man, I didn't know you actually mentioned another M.M. trip. What a coincident it was because You are my Abe, Lucas 🤙 Thanks for awesome craft again. I learn again. 👍
i saw that lift line and my jaw just dropped. it makes sense bc its a sick resort but I'm used to Australia where you can ski straight into the lift half the time
Abe is the man! I started following his content back when he was in college with his ski team and ended up buying a GoPro as a result haha. Glad you got to meet him
Wow, can't wait too get back out west and ski....That powder I'm on the east coast (Connecticut) just so Temps here aren't Cooperating Cooperating for snowmaking I did go twice this week and was great to just being out on the slopes. I just retired and helping mom out (she's 91).
Hope you found some mammoth locals to take you in while waiting out the current dump. It’s gonna be even more epic!! The. The storm next weekend is supposed to be a 👿 👹!!
Upper Dry creek off High 5 lift is challenging because of some big bumps and Lower Dry Creek is fun with a few nice kickers. Top to bottom will work you out.
Hell yes my dude, keep checking off goals! Always save your videos for my daily stationary bike workout, perfect motivation! Want my legs to be as strong as possible for my Colorado trip
Ok, so now you understand about Mammoth. It's not something you can describe to someone; you just have to experience it for yourself. When the snow is good, it's...Mammoth.
I absolutely love your shots from the front. That's an angel that I almost see no other skier post. I would love to be able to take videos like that when I ski. Although looks like the stick is quite long. Is it obstructing your skiing?
Awesome video! What you label "Shaft" is in the Sunshine Glades, close to Grizzly. Shaft is much closer to the lift line than where you were. What you label is "Viva" is actually the gladed ridge between Avy 1 and Viva, though you exited on the Avy 1 side. Avy 1 proper is the "straight shot all the way down" that you saw and went to the skiers right of. The IDK run is Dry Creek. Upper Dry Creek (which another commented mentioned) is the crease dropping from Top of the World down to the cat track you started on, while Lower Dry Creek is the continuation of that canyon below the base of 5. You were in Dry Creek proper. Your footage from Dragon's Tail is stoke-inspiring. I've spent so many powder days working my way out along that ridge (from Head to Back to Wazoo's to the Tail glades) as other stuff tracks out, and it always delivers. Wrt your walk at the beginning, trom the top of Chair 2 you can hike around the back of the snowmaking pond next to McCoy, and from there hit Coyote to the bottom of 5 (right where you exited the "IDK" run later in the video). If 5 is closed you can then take a short hike up and over the ridge to get to Chair 4. That would probably be easier overall than the hike you took.
