There were actually three other Bass Trombones playing there! Javi was on the left of the slope, but then Eric Homol and Aaron Martin were on top of the slope, and both of them have headcam videos. The last Bass Trombone is on the right of the slope. He's kinda hard to see, and I don't know his name, but he's the Bass Trombonist that's next to Javi in the closer. jeez, marching band is one of the most physically exerting sports, especially professional march. like, your running around, dancing, doing both of those things with the most uncomfortable and stiff movements, all while putting most of your breath into your instrument.
Love u guys u guys had a great season and I started mello this year and seeing u guys makes me so happy and encourages me to keep pushing thanks Bluecoats(especially mellos)
Corey Suedkamp well yes and no. A mellophone is pretty much just a special type French horn that takes a different mouthpiece and you March with. A marching French horn is basically just the Bb side of a regular hand in bell French horn in a different wrap so that the bell faces forward and it's played with the right hand. I believe a mello is louder and probably easier to March with because the mouthpiece has a larger rim. Marching French horns take French horn mouthpieces which believe me are a hassle to March with especially at a faster tempo.

It was probably a wet day. Most corps let members take the gloves off if they get wet-- or it could have been super mucky out. I've had to take gloves off because they soak through with sweat.

what kind of mouthpiece do you use? I'm planning on switching from trumpet to mellophone and wondering what type to get. I thought you could use a trumpet mouthpiece but I'm told it's not recommended.
These are Hammonds custom made for the Bluecoats. A mellophone mouthpiece is the best way to go because they are built to resonate with the horn the way a french horn or trumpet mouthpiece cannot
