Please know that is comes from a drummer in a former life: Each time I watch one of these lot videos , I find myself overcome with emotion that only seems to come from music. In reading the comments, I see that I am not alone at all in this! If any of you read this, I have something I want you to remember - each time you fill your lungs with air, you have an opportunity to touch the deepest part of the hearts of not just those in your audience that night, but anyone who happens to see a video of you years from now, playing that very note you are about to play.
The time to play each note the way you want it to sound 10 years from now is not the second weekend in August, it’s NOW. Please... don’t sit in that age out circle crying, wishing you had just one more day to get better....
So I get why camera placement might not matter for filming cymbals, and that this is meant to be a promo for the Seavine gloves, but ended up really bummed that this video wasn't meant to showcase the sound of the hornline even though it is being marketed as such. Terrible mic placement considering how good the equipment was, you cant record the sound of a brass line without being in front of them, in the middle.
loved listening to this show throughout last summer, you guys sounded (and looked) incredible. so proud to see the unflinchingly high standard maintained by bluecoats brasslines year after year. really looking forward to what the 2018 season brings. bloo mello 05-07
