140# in 8 minutes, congrats for having the right gear and knowing how to use it. That's how it should be done, watch and learn.

Thanks DJ. It’s hard to not drop down to lighter line when other people are getting bit. I don’t want to be the guy fighting a fish for hours when it’s time to move to another spot.

Awesome job from showing the sinker rig how to, and then letting your bait go perfectly, and a 140lb trophy!

The only gripe I have with this reel is the weight, but that goes with the size of the reel ru-vid.comUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . I brought this salmon fishing up in Oswego, NY. I coupled it with a Cabela's Whuppin Stick. I had no problem pulling in a 14lb salmon. I will probably use this for surf fishing this summer and downgrade to a 3500 series Battle II next salmon season to save my wrists. All of the operations are butter smooth and the bail is nice and thick and has a solid flip to it. Everything about this reel is sturdy and strong. The drag system held up to the salmon and was also super smooth. I did use a scale to set the drag properly before going out to the river and this worked out tremendously. A bunch of other guys on the river would hook up and snap almost immediately. Just because you have a good drag system doesn't do anything if you don't set it correctly.

This was total execution'! Excellent instruction and perfect tutorial. I've been fishing about 10 years and never once seen an Angler go in High Gear while the bite was fresh. I've always waited until I could see deep color or wait for the Tuna to do the Death circle. Can't wait until my next trip April 16th 2023 on the New Lo Ann 2-Day. Thanks for the amazing Video #New #Subscriber!

Why don't you just use a swivel at each end of the weight??????
@artemisadventures1734
@artemisadventures1734 28 дней назад
The thought for me is that you don’t want to add any more knots in your line than you need to. It seems that every time a fish is lost, it’s at the knot (unless the fish chews through the line, prob more likely).

Why do you use a rubber band,,???
@artemisadventures1734
@artemisadventures1734 28 дней назад
The rubber band lets you adjust your leader length and minimizes the number of knots you have in your line.

Worst twisting of your bait braid n sinker idea yet cause if you need to get down to 400 feet plus you hafta drop if slower than full speed cause it will get all twisted up at full speed So this method only works at shallower depths and slower decent However if you do a standard dropper loop you can send your bait down at full speed Stay away from fades stick with what still works still gave the guy a thumbs up

You’re totally right. This technique works good on private boats too. I’ve been using the drop shot rig for deep fast drops. It took me a while to warm up to it but I love it now.

This way works pretty good when it’s not too crowded. I know some small rod/reel commercial guys that fish this with a 20’ leader. But that’s on a small boat with two people. You’re right though, I’ve been using the drop shot rig more than this lately.
