There are countless bass lines and ways to play them in bluegrass guitar. here are two basic ones to get you started. They are a walk up from G to C and a walk up from G to D.
it's good to be able to play them "half-time" with a strum between the notes, and "full time" in an unbroken run. Practice slowly until you can play them accurately every time. Then focus on applying them to several songs.
The walk up from G to C is:
G (on low E string) A (open A string) A# (1st fret A string) B (2nd fret A string) and land on a C-chord.
The walk up from G to D is:
G (on low E string) B (2nd fret on A-string) C (3rd fret on A-string) C# (4th fret on A-string) and then land on a D-chord.
Remember, only strum the high three strings of the guitar between the bass notes (G,B, & e).
Please leave questions or comments below and good luck!
