you are amazing! this is brilliant! I could listen to it over and over and never get bored! I'm itching to jam along on a harmonica or guitar! thanks for posting! x
the scale length is 3 inches shorter than an octave mandolin, and on a bouzouki the two lowest strings are tuned in octaves, while on an octave mandolin they're tuned in unison. the two instruments are so very very similar.
addisonscout bouzouki tuning is GDAD while octave mando is GDAE and for the origin, the bouzouki is Greece while octave mando came from Mezzogiorno, Italy.
Dude, nice work, Joey Cramer on Drums on that, Joe Perry playin some lead, Tom Hamilton playin some bass, Brad Whitford backin you up, and Steven Tyler screamin in you ear, and you got a one hit wonder
I think these things are tough to play. Fret spacing much bigger than mando, so more hand movement required. Finger pressure needed to get clean tone on the doubled strings is high.
hah.. i want to get an octave mandolin soon, then i heard this.. now i REALLY want one.. cool to see people not following the status quo and buying a guitar like the other 4 billion people
