You are so quick with these videos. Amazing. I really liked Texier's game but I see why the Jackets moved him. They have a ton of wingers ready to play plus a little cp wiggle room is always good.
1:11 Pettersson, DJ, Blueger and Hronek all left money on the table because they wanted to be a Canuck and win. I guess Podz is the only Russian the Canucks will be keeping after having 4 on the roster at one point... (just wait and see him get traded now.. lol). Some team will overpay Zed. Canucks aren't that team. What he will learn (the hard way), and what his next team will also learn the hard way, is that certain players respond different to different coaches. If his next team doesn't have such a coach, he'll have a down season and possibly a less impactful career. 1:45 Allvin has made the right call here. His instincts are pretty sharp..
Marino's definitely a two-way D. Skates well, passes well, defends intelligently, can handle the rigor of a rough game but does not enjoy contact. Well-priced for a 2nd pair guy who can play some 1st minutes in an emergency.
I would have liked to see Zadorov stay in Van but you can't pay someone for what they aren't and I don't think he's a top 4 defenceman. Hopefully the Canucks can still add size to their D and bottom 6 forwards, they really need it - especially in the playoffs.
Crazy that 2 seasons ago we were loving Marino, now we all want him gone. Wish him the best wherever he ends up. Also wouldn't mind adding Zadorov if getting Pesce doesn't work out
God I’ll miss him but we gotta realize he had one good year and the year before that led to him being traded. I think this is a good move assuming we end up with Pesce, a consistent, great defender.
Cmon man. Just kidding. He’s a good bottom 6 forward. Probably a 30-40 point guy who can play both sides of the puck. As a blues fan I like this trade as it’s giving up virtually nothing for a good bottom 6 guy.
He's inconsistent, can take bad penalties, doesn't produce much offensively throughout his career. Last season at 20 points was one of his best with his best ever playoff run and he'll be entering his 30s. He's great as a bottom pairing guy but not at 6m
@@justjohnny420 imo, when the best coach in the league is pumping his tires in every way almost every game in the playoffs it goes to show what an asset he is. Top 4 and just hitting his stride.
I dont think he wanted 6, I think he wanted 5 and the Canucks were probably closer to 4. Really sucks because he was awesome here but 5 million is a bit rich for what we could afford.
He will do great for the Blues. Blues got a lot of forward depth and we checked a box with us getting another D Man with the draft today. Blues got a bright future. Resigning Buch would be a great acquisition I'd say we really need to put our money on a good D Man.
I think Texier gives the Blues another option on the PK and he can play a number of different roles. The Blues are looking to add players who are in their mid 20's and Texier checks that box as well. I'm intrigued by this move and he might do well with the Blues.
Yeah you gotta think Coleman might be the next to be moved if Kadri does. Huberdeau is probably the only player of significance that Conroy's not getting called about.
@@dimitu_ Devils could use size, toughness, physicality. Pesce is solid but he doesn't have those qualities. Not like Zadorov, anyway. Also, Dougie and Nemec shoot right. Luke Hughes and Siegenthaler shoot left. Marino probably gone with Bahl and Smith. How is the left side fixed?
@@DerektheMotorider it does feel that way yeah. I think we’ll get more out of him, rather than vrana and kap. That’s just my opinion though. Hopefully I’m right for once lol
This is the replacement for Hayes. He will be at center and it looks like a better fit for the younger, and faster forward group that's coming. Hayes looked like he couldn't keep up with his own team at times.
@@toddford9839 I agree 100%. The kid is only 24, i truly believe you can produce more than he as with the Blue Jackets. We’ll have to wait to find out.
I'd be surprised to see Kadri moved. He was arguably the best veteran on the team last year, and I don't see The Flames wanting to move him except to move up in the draft. But I doubt Kadri would accept a trade unless it was to a contender. And none of the current contenders have a top 10 pick. So I really don't see it happening. One scenario that might make sense, would be if maybe a contending team were to offer up a top four defenseman, especially a defensive or good two-way defender. But I don't know who would be making that kind of offer at this point.
Kadri was huge in helping Zary and Pospisil along this past season. He is a great mentor for the young players Calgary wants to add to the lineup and I think it would be a mistake to move on from him. You need vets in the lineup to mentor your young players. If Kadri wants to stay, keep him.
Who can blame Zadorov for wanting to cash in… 🤷🏻♂️ He probably doubled his value in Vancouver and this is probably his only opportunity… HOWEVER, I do believe, whoever sign him for more than 4M will immediately regret that decision… he is bottom 2 D on most occasions. Yes, he seems to be PO performer who can step up his game, but not worth that money. In my opinion 🤷🏻♂️
I hope no one wants Zadorov so he can come back to Vancouver for a cheaper deal than what he was asking for before this all ends and Vancouver runs out or cap space.
I don't mind the Jackets moving Tex. I'll miss him in Columbus, but I get why they didn't wanna pay him as a fourth liner for roughly 2 mil. They would've lost him for nothing, so win-win for St Louis and Columbus
Seems to me that a lot of people are really high on Zadorov because of a good season. For years he was an average to above average player, I don’t really understand the hype.
There are times I enjoy the draft and the resulting player movement more then I do the actual regular season games. If what you are saying about the rumors on the floor are true, this year shouldn’t disappoint.
And if they really want Jake Guentzel, they can't afford Zadorov at those prices he wants Just like Myers at 3 is doable , maybe Zadorov is okay at 4-4,2.....will he get more..probably
Dan Milstein broke the trade beating Puckpedia by a minute, but puckpedia got all the details. All Milstein broke was that Texier signed a 2 year extension with the Blues.
Canucks already just signed an expensive risky contract with Hronek. Signing another expensive risky contract with zadorov. While having cap constraints from a buyout of a bad contract for a defenseman doesn't make sense.
I get the feeling like most of the Blue Jackets roster could use a change of scenery. Don Waddell has his hands full trying to right that ship in Columbus.
It took me a while to realize it was the blues rather than the blue jackets. I was like wasn't he already on the blue jackets? Why is he traded to blue jackets then.
@@user-by3nd4rm6c Soemthing that'll shock everyone like Fleury and Pacoretti to get space then do something. I don't like it, but something needs to be done
@@user-by3nd4rm6c The team defense made the goaltending look worse, but our goalies also weren't bailing out the mistakes by the 20-year-olds on defense. Bad goals allowed at crucial times. Like, the opposite of timely saves. It wasn't good.
They are shopping him to likely free up some cap space for Pesce. Lots of rumors that he's basically already signed with us so Marino kinda becomes expendable. Also a good chance we get another Dman on a cheap short term deal. After last season its clear that Fitz just wants to overhaul the D. Other than Luke, Dougie and Nemec, no one is safe.
I bet Bill Zito is licking his chops at Zadorov on the market. The Panthers organization has loved him for years but never had enough assets to trade for him. He’s a textbook Panthers defenseman and brings even more toughness to an already chippy team. If you think they don’t have enough cap space to do it then you need to go take another look at capfriendly. A lot of contracts expiring next year mainly Aaron Ekblads 7.5mil off the books, who is a shell of his former self (at most he takes a massive discount to stay in Florida and retire a cat). Brandon Montour has also been rumored to not have a contract in the works so he’s likely gonna as well.
Please don’t even mention,Bill Zito, his childish antics in the pre box, with his tantrum,is ,and was Discusting,no one wants to talk about it cause his team won the cup,and the NHL,will not allow any negativity bloom! He did not win the cup his players did,and his performance throwing a fit,is just not anyone should be proud of!
Have you ever watched playoffs before? Every GM gets pissed off and excited in there watching their team. I also find it baffling how you give the GM, the guy that constructed the roster 0 credit when that roster performs. Sure he's not on the ice but he's the reason why the guys on the ice are playing together 😂
@@justjohnny420 I am 76 years old played the game for twenty years, worked in the pre box at the old Chicago stadium, played over seas in Sweden and Denmark, seen a lot of hockey played a lot of hockey, players loosing their cool OK,and sir I do apologize because Zito, did do a great deal to build this team, but my opinion,is this incident is not a very good action, for the younger people who play or want to play our sport!I don’t mean to offend you in any way,and the Panthers showed a lot of grit in that seventh game, and we’re very deserving of the Stanley Cup!God Bless you!Thomas A.Filipiak!
At 5.5, I would give it two years and Canucks fans would be calling for Allvin's head. Physical players wear down in their 30s. Pettersson's cap hit isn't 13 million. The only person who cares about his salary should be the one signing his checks.
@@TheHockeyGuy So we can bitch about some player’s salaries, and call for the head of management for those mistakes, but discussion about Petey being grossly overpaid is off the table? Can you see him living up to his 11.6 million AAV cap hit? He was a passenger all playoffs, and his attitude/body language was garbage to boot. They should send him packing, before that extension mistake kicks in.
He was playing hurt. Yes, I can see a young player who put up over 100 points a year ago living up to his contract. Zadorov turns 30 next season. Anyone signing him long term to a high cap hit is taking a huge risk.
@@TheHockeyGuy I suppose I should have narrowed it down a bit. Do you think Petey is the type of player who can ever get it done during the physicality of the playoffs? A guy doing snow angels in the corner at the end of every lost loose puck battle is what we’ve gotten so far. Regular season points are nice and all, but if your top paid players go into a shell when the hitting starts, then good luck with that.
@@MachoManAndySavage125 the Boston talking heads are hearing Brady Skjei is of big interest to the Bruins but I feel like Skjei and Lindholm are very similar tbh, I’ve always been a fan of Zadorov going back to his days in Buffalo
Lol, Hronek is a better player. Canucks fans are really overrating Zadorov. If you want to dump Hronek and keep Zadorov, that's insane. Hronek had a poor second half of the season, but he had company there. He is 26 years old and likely has his best days ahead of him.
@@TheHockeyGuyI only didn’t like hronek at over 8 million but his extension is good now and could very well be great in a couple years. You’re correct he’s much better than zadorov, unfortunately many fans can’t get past the zadorov from the playoffs
