Thank you Sandra ("The oh so lovely Sandra") for doing this for us! By the way, back in 2009 I had the pleasure of seeing the author of this song ("Toots Thielemans") in concert in an intimate small theater setting. It was wonderful! He had his guitar next to him all evening, but he never played it. He played his "Chromonica" with his trio. Thanks!!
What an honor to see the great Toots! Every time a jazz star comes to Austria I go see them. I always think, maybe they don't live that long anymore 😊 Some things you don't want to miss.
@@GuitarversumSandraSherman You're right Sandra. Toots died in 2016 at the age of 94 and even though he was elderly when I saw him, it was a once in a lifetime experience for me and he played extremely well, while telling interesting stories between songs. Thanks Sandra!
Thanks Sandra! I finally can play a good rendition of this guitar standard. Had to play the video over about 6 times to get it but now its down! Looking forward to learning more from you now.
Sandra, I just joined! I've been watching and learning for a week or two and getting back into playing. Thank you for your time and the sharing of your great talent with us all. By the way, do you have an arrangement of the Bealtes song "Yesterday"?
Welcome to the club, Raymond! 🤗 I don't have Yesterday. Beatles songs are demonetized or even taken down as soon as I post them. The only one I have on YT is Eleanor Rigby. But that's a good starter into chord melody, bc it's really easy (for a jazzer 😉).
Thank you for introducing me to this song. I didn't know it before, but it sounds great! Since I don't know a single tune in 3/4 I think it's time for me to learn one.
Ola. sou brasileiro. sou de sao paulo cidade de sao bernado do campo, Brasil. Amo suas lições. voce tem um jeito diferente de ensinar. ja aprendi muito com voce. muito obrigado Hello. I'm Brazilian. I'm from sao paulo city of sao bernado do campo, Brazil. I love your lessons. you have a different way of teaching. I've learned a lot from you. Thank you very much
I can die happy now, this tune is perfect for your style, so bright and cheery just like you! @4:10 you say 8 10 8 9 10 where you meant to say 8 10 8 9 8.
Thank you for this great tutorial (and the others). I really liked your turn around (I made it a little easier for me... 10-x-10-10, 9-x-9-10, 8-x-8-10, to F7). PS I'm especially glad you talk about using your thumb on low e string as that has always been easier/more natural for me.
Theme from mannix was composed by lalo schifrin . It is a great big band jazz tune with lots of changes . By the way, I really liked your lesson bluesette ! Keep up the good work! Greetings from Belgium!
thank you for the video! You're the second person saying that Bluesette is a blues, but even if I know that especially in jazz the blues can be transformed in ways that makes it barely recognizable I really can't hear it in this case. Is it really a blues?
If you bought Tabs only, you'd have to buy the backing track extra. The older Songs habe seperate Backing Tracks available, while the newer ones (last year) habe the backing la only in the Film package. If you click the link in the description box you get to the landing page for the lesson material. There you see all the available options.
Please, please do a guitar tutorial for Claire de Lune. Your play-style and teaching would be absolutely perfect for it, and as it stands, there are no good guitar tutorials for it. Keep up the brilliant work, your Moon River lesson was life changing.
Not at the moment. There is a huge wave of copyright claims going on on YT. Chord Melody arrangements are not recognized, but single melodies are. And Caravan is not suitable as a chord melody arrangement. We can all thank Universal Music Publishing Group for this crap. They already claimed several of my videos and get all my revenue from it.
Paypal has a problem at the moment. Just email me to shermanlessons@gmail.com and I'll send you the file(s). Please add your PP receipt, so I can see what exactly you ordered.
Good for you! That makes me so happy ❤️. You know what? I know people, who regret that they haven't started to learn an instrument 5 years ago. But then they don't start now. 5 years later I hear those same regrets 🙈. You, my friend, do it just right. It's never too late to start doing what you love! ❤️
Generally what I say, I do it, so no problem. In fact, I was singing this song: in 1980 in English (yogurt), with a guitarist in the style: Wes Montgomery, a bassist, drummer and a saxophonist ( who played in Parker's Charlie style. It's a shame that the internet did not give this information in the past! Verry much....... I am aware that you have worked hard to achieve your result. I decide to start working: THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER YOU to the guitar like you, thank you for sharing your knowledge and your talent. cordially Robert Charles Costalat @ + (later)
That's the standard jazz form as played at every session 😊. But if you play that in a band you can of course add the bridge and end for a complete arrangement.
