I removed the switch mode power supply and installed the Teddy Pardo linear power supply.
To me it sound much better. Easy upgrade. 30 minutes. It has a Hugh 20,000 mf capacitor storage. And massive Toroidal power supply. Bang for the buck …. This is great.

I just use the node for the streamer and just use the coax out. I simply used a 5v battery bank to power the 5v in on the node. Huge difference. Better than any mains linear power supply.

Glad to finally see a review on this. After alot of research, Im going with the TP mini also. No other ratings on the new mini, but great ratings on its big brother and TP rep said mini is actually an upgrade. Ive got a Geshelli J2 dac. Very good ratings for its price and a small USA company. Cheap Audio Man does a couple reviews on it. How long did it take to get your Mini?

It came really quick. Like 3 days. It’s 295 and the shipping is 70 dollars. Yea I really like it.

I assume this requires you to go inside the NODE to connect. That's the part that scares me, soldering etc....

Voids the warranty but it’s plug and play …. No soldering at all.

Are the high frequencies smoother? More fleshed out?

If say the background is blacker. In my case I added a super tweeter as I wanted a little sizzle in the highs.

Not sure how you got this in the $200's? I was just on the TP site and it's $425.00. Trying to decide between this and LHY. Also if I'm going to spring for $425...I might look at a better streamer/transport then like the Eversolo DMP-A6 or even looking at a Lumin U2 Mini (granted thats a lot more). I use an external DAC anyways, only this as a transport.

When I bought it was 295 plus 60 dollars shipping for the Teddy mini. I use Bluesound all around the house. So just keeping it easy. Yea there are a million ways to go with hifi. Just have fun.

The problem is the dac chips used.

Yea and that’s one of my problems. I really want to dislike the dac. But the node uses one of my favorite chips the Ti Burr Brown PCM 5242. It has been described as detailed with a smooth chocolatey smooth sound. And it is. The power supply has made it all wider and just better. Sooo the jury is out still as to weather I will change dacs.

@@stevethetoolman2435 I quite like the sound of the blue sound for certain music, but it's still very poor by today's standards. I'm thinking of a clock upgrade from fidelity audio.
