I've been trying to get my Pro 2 controller paired for a day and a half. My dumbass was just turning the controller on. I wasn't hitting the pairing button. This video made me realize my stupid mistake. Thank you.
On Batocera I am having to pair my Bluetooth controllers everytime I boot up the system. It all works fine once configured. Why aren't they remembered after shutdown or restart. Keep pairing is becoming annoying. Any ideas?
New to all of this. Trying to settup generic controllers before i handover the build to my kids for Christmas and having no luck. Such a faf about. Currently much preferring standalone emulators.
Thank you. Good video. Any idea why the mappings dont persist across reboots of the device itself? I'm running on a pie4. Everything works fine, but I have to remap the controller after I turn the device off.

I'm going to have to give Batocera a shot, right now I'm on Windows with Big Box, and I'm happy with that, but interested in trying it on my Raspberry Pi 4, l like Retropie but I'm curious if the performance is any better

hye recently found batocera and try connecting my gamepad using bluetooth but the problem is only 1 controller(main) can be use and detected , the second controller doesnt work at all,
You'd go into pairing mode within retropie or whatever is being used on the pi but I'm not sure it would show up on your phone. You're pairing from the pi to external devices like a controller. You aren't going to pair a phone to a pi via Bluetooth or a phone to another phone or pc to another pc.
I don’t know why everytime I pair up the controller already. And when I restart the system it doesn’t pair anymore. But says Bluetooth controller is paired. Help
Any one knows how to fix the bluetooth thing where you press " Pair a bluetooth controller " and nothing happens? So you don't get a " Scanning Bluetooth " pop up at the right top corner just as 1:41 ?
Any suggestions on pairing an 8bitdo Pro 2? I was able to pair it in Windows mode, but just get the scanning message when in Batocera. Doesn't even show up on the "device list."
@Retro Gaming Guy no dice... updated the firmware and gave it a go... but nothing. Weird how the Windows side pairs with it, but not when in Batocera. I will be returning it.
Any work arounds on Xbox One Series X Bluetooth controllers? I tried everything but it pairs then unpairs every time I try to to use the bluetooth pairing.. I have no issues when I connect with a USB cable. Any help would be appreciated :)
I just found my old Toshiba Satellite Laptop that has a i5, 6gb ddr3,and 640gb HDD that I'm gonna to turn into a retro gaming laptop/station. I was wondering if the PS4 and/or PS5 Dual Sense would work with Batocera on PC?
I've used a PS4 and it connects easy just like any other Bluetooth. Not sure how ps5 would be since they are much newer controllers but certainly worth a try.
@@RetroGamingGuy I just tried using the PS4 controller. Didn't work. My laptop is windows 7..I bought a flash drive with Batocera Linux on it... connected it to the laptop and went to boot menu and booted from USB drive. I don't have anything that's already paired with Batocera so maybe I am screwed
Why can't I do the same to connect my xiaomi airdots? In system settings the audio output only shows me the two hdmi outputs of the tv my pi 4 is connected to. Nowhere does it give me the option to pair a bluetooth audio device. Help me!!
My controllers are getting listed as “Sony entertainment device” despite being xbox one s, xbox series, and 8bitdo pro 2. I am unable to bind the left joystick on all controllers for some reason.
@@ForTwinTeeBleezEt not uncommon for them to register that way. Not sure why you can't map that function though. I have heard of some having similar issues and they solved it by simply repeating the process a couple times and eventually it become mappable.
I put a Bluetooth dongle in the usb and when I got collar a controller it just says please wait. For a good 10 minutes and nothing. How can I add the driver for the dongle ? Any help would be great
@@Blessi080 actually I ripped the install disc it came with and ran it in the windows installer and a quick reset and it works. So I guess if you have the driver install file you can run it in windows installer and you’re good. Thank you for your reply and the channel. Been a big help.
I have paired the 8 Bitdo pro 2 pad and for some reason the hotkey maps but when i try to exit a game the hotkey doesn’t register all the other buttons work 🧐
Anyone having trouble pairing a ps4 controller, nothing happening when manually or automatically pairing in Batocera , even got a PS link adapter and still nothing.

Have you updated the firmware on the controller? If not update it then try again. You'll need to likely remove the controller first and reset your input configs before reconnecting this controller again.
@@RetroGamingGuy upgraded, downgraded. Seems to be a thing a few sites showing people having the same problem, you’re my go to man wondering if you have come across it.
@@ReefCommunityWorldwide I haven't so far maybe it's an issue with that specific model. Another thing I could recommend is check the modes offered on that model. Usually these have 2-4 modes you can switch between.
@@RetroGamingGuy just found this These controllers now fully work with Batocera (v36) from 22nd December build however in BT mode there is a slight issue we have to address. Workaround from the terminal / ssh: type: bluetoothctl then type: scan on to get a list of controllers to pair, you need the mac address then type one after the other: pair trust connect then exit to exit Batocera will now automatically connect that controller. We’ll fix it in the GUI soon.
I have that same controller and it pairs fine, but then it doesn't work in game. no controls do, not even the keyboard. THe keyboard still worked at first, but then it stopped. Only thing I can do is Alt-Ctrl-Delete to reboot the pi.
Why can't I pair my Xbox Series X controller? I keep getting a either a "Pairing Failed b Xbox Wireless Controller" or "Pairing b Xbox Wireless Controller" then "Trusting b Xbox Wireless Controller" but it never connects. I installed the latest firmware and yes, it is an offical Microsoft controller and not a cheap Chinese clone rip off. It will work as a wired controller but did not buy a wireless controller to use it as a wired controller or I would have just bought a USB Wired Microsoft Xbox controller.
I'm not sure there. I've never used one before on Batocera. I know with retropie you have to go through a very specific process to get it working on there since its not the intended platform to use it on. Probably a similar situation with Batocera.
Hard to see because the room is well lit. They were scrolling during pairing and then the first light stays lit once it's fully paired and you get the on screen confirmation.
