$799 to start. Main selling point for me is the battery chemistry as LFP with 3500 charge cycles to 80% capacity. That means it has a practical lifespan of over 10 years.

That works out to less than $0.22 a day, or about $6.57 a month for electricity. Not a bad deal, imo.

I am happy with the weight of the unit - smaller person here so the 60+lbs of the ac200 was just too much for me to drag around. This has power and I can either put them on light dollies or lift carefully.

IMO where they dropped the ball vs the EB70s is not carrying over the additional 12v barrel (DC5521) ports. You're limited to one 12v cigarette style outlet.

I have multiple Bluetti and Jackery power stations and I agree the sweet spot is the 70s. Small enough to be portable, big enough to run rice cooker, small AC fridge and other appliances. I find I need 2 so that 1 is charging while the other is in use. I wish I could add B230s to it.

Right now I still live in a house and I probably will for at least two more years, but I want the security of knowing I can run my refrigerator and a room air conditioner or a room heater, whichever is necessary. So I am saving up to get the full bluetti system. Thank you, Bob for all your wonderful explanations.

I'm in a similar situation. I watch a lot of channels that feature solar for vanlife/RV living & am still learning. The number 1 thing I take from it is: solar panels are the focus not the battery. Especially true if we're not driving everyday nor parked near a power outlet. The more powerful & plentiful the panels can be on top - means they're going to better serve our power needs. Factor in that we might be parked under tree shade or heavy cloud, & that the sun might only hit the solar panels for 6 hours at best. We're not getting 12 hours of solar production. There's only so much real estate on a roof so if needed- adding extra portable panels to capture the sun, & foldup at night, will supplement the fixed panels. To calculate size of battery - add up all the every day, essential power needs, not wants - fridge, AC, heat, lights etc & how long they will be used in 24hrs. Translate that to battery size & capacity of solar panels as if the panels only powered the battery for 6 hrs. Also solar panels need a heat sink - if they get overheated they don't work. That means - the beefier house panels with strong frames with aluminium fins allowing air circulation - are going to perform better on a vehicle than the flat thin flexible panels that practically get glued to the roof. This of course is an evolving industry which will bring out new products with improved efficiency as time goes on.

I just bought the Bluetti70S and love it so far. I took it boondocking in my class C and kept all my small electronics charged for 4 days without the panels to recharge. I dont have a tv so just phone, tablet, laptop and things like my rechargeable light bulbs and fan. I may get the new extra battery for later use in the desert.

On sale now this week for Black Friday - $649 I just bought two of them and their 420 watt portable solar panel. Two of these were cheaper than the AC200 and provide a tiny bit more juice. I do not want a permanent solar panel on the roof so I can remain stealth in my white minivan, lol. With the portable solar panel and two power stations, it will allow me to park in the shade and charge one power station at a time so that I should always have electricity for my 12 volt fridge.

Not sure why you say the EB70 needs ideal conditions to run a 12v compressor fridge. Mine will run it happily for a couple of days and with a set of 200w panels, it will do me for the whole trip. Even a couple of cloudy days won't be a problem. A good 12v fridge only needs about 40-50w and then for only about half the time as it cycles so realistically, it only draws around 25w/hr.

What if I have an Iceco type fridge and a CPAP? Would this be enough?
@debbiedogs1
@debbiedogs1 Год назад
It has just one DC outlet, and CPAP runs longer on DC, your fridge is probably for DC, and even if you have a DC splitter I believe the outlet is restricted to 129 watts. So that could be a problem unless you can verify that even with your fridge and CPAP running their combined watts do not exceed that small limit. OR - because this is a bigger unit with decent watts (1800W), maybe you could use your CPAP or fridge on AC. You will have to do a bit of homework to ensure the CPAP runtime you need for a decent sleep as well as keep your fridge going until you can recharge via vehicle or plug-in or solar.
@jazziered142
@jazziered142 Год назад
@@debbiedogs1 Thank you so much for this reply. I would have to run the CPAP 8 hours. I will do further research. I am just working out my plans and thinking of price points on things. I am going to have to do a no build build.
@debbiedogs1
@debbiedogs1 Год назад
@@jazziered142 - I am not a camper, so my solar has been used at home and I do not know specific needs for CPAP, except that if you use the humidifier there is a higher draw on your power. So someone with CPAP experience can tell you more; and you might find someone near you who can tell you the figures to look at on your CPAP and your Iceco fridge and do a good "guesstimate" about the dryer, and therefore what unit(s) would be good for you.
@debbiedogs1
@debbiedogs1 Год назад
@@jazziered142 - Oupes sells an 1800 unit for about $900- 1000 usually, that takes 400 watts solar, which means it can recharge fairly quickly with decent sun. I run my house fridge with it, and it runs it for 24 hours!! Let me see if I can find the total output of the DC outlets (one like a vehicle outlet, plus some USB and PD types).
